As she began speaking in her accented English, some in the crowd started shouting “U.S.A.! U.S.A.!”

… would not happen at a Dem convention or at Netroots or whatever. This is why I believe only white males have more than one option at the voting booth. For the rest of us there is only 1 party and 1 party only. I will always be a Democrat because I don’t have the privilege to have a choice.

P.S. My guy Barack Obama got a BORICUA on The Supreme Court.

Independents would rather have Charlie Sheen as their POTUS instead of Sarah Palin.

Who would I vote for?

If you only had these 2 choices and you had to vote.

I finally chose Sheen because he’d probably choose a VP who would do the POTUS thing while he bangs 7 gram rocks. With Palin she’d probably nuke somebody and somebody would nuke us and we’d all be dead. I’d rather my prez be doing coke than destroying the world.

So if you had to vote for POTUS.

This was going to be a comment but the pictures were big.

That’s just how I roll.

Almost everybody knows by now that Daily Kos rolled out a new version today. Lots of new stuff around but what has really gotten my attention has been the Groups function and how that could be a blogosphere gamechanger. So that’s what this diary/openthread is mostly about. I was responding in a thread on the Moose so I decided to put it up in the bright lights for those interested in the conversation.

I’ve been glued to the tube all day.

Talks to end the war in Afghanistan involve extensive, face-to-face discussions with Taliban commanders from the highest levels of the group’s leadership, who are secretly leaving their sanctuaries in Pakistan with the help of NATO troops, officials here say.

The discussions, some of which have taken place in Kabul, are unfolding between the inner circle of President Hamid Karzai and members of the Quetta shura, the leadership group that oversees the Taliban war effort inside Afghanistan. Afghan leaders have also held discussions with leaders of the Haqqani network, considered to be one of the most hard-line guerrilla factions fighting here; and members of the Peshawar shura, whose fighters are based in eastern Afghanistan.
