I have had this diary floating in my head for awhile. I hesitated to write it because it really had nothing to do with politics, it certainly wasn’t serious, given all that was going on in the world and at home. Then again because everything right now is so serious wars, nuclear meltdowns,budget battles etc etc I thought some might enjoy the distraction.

So here goes  . . . The Story on how my pilot call sign became POTUS.

In light of so many saying Obama as started a conflict without Congressional authorization I thought we might try a hypothetical and see what you all think.

I want you to assume you are President Obama. You are weighing your options on a rapidly moving Libyan conflict. And while you are weighing your options the Senate, the body that advises and consents, jumps ahead of you and unanimously passes a resolution for a Libyan no-fly-zone, one that would be unilaterally enacted. Two weeks later the Libyan rebels, a good number of Arab states, the UN and your advisors are also now calling for a no-fly-zone. So you agree. As the UN is voting or shortly after you call over Congressional leaders and advise them of your decision. Saying OK I agree with your vote two weeks ago, except I decided I could not do it unilaterally nor do I want to be the lead dog for very long. Then within 48 hours of the decision per the War Powers Act you send an advisory letter to both Houses of Congress letting them know and laying out your case for this action. ( not sure you really needed to lay out the case since they had already vote yea)

Ok I have just about had it with our Democratic Senators and Representatives.

Look I get you are upset with this tax deal. I get it is not what you would have preferred. It is not what I wanted either, it is a bitter pill.

What I do not get is unadulterated BS like this from Al Franken:

“A lot of people are unhappy that the President punted on first down, and I’m one of them,” Franken wrote in the message to supporters. “Extending the Bush tax breaks for the super-wealthy will explode our deficit over the next two years without doing anything to help our economy.”

Voting against

Brown, Murkowski and newly minted Democrat Senator from West Virginia Joe Manchin .

It is not going to happen this legislative session which means it is going to happen legislatively.

Now this is where I do make a strong suggestion to President Obama. Drop the appeal in the 9th Circuit and just be done with it.

Apologies for the brevity. But what else is there to say except FUCK!

As many of you know, if you peruse the diaries over at DKos, there has been a bit of sturm und drang over the Obama administration and State Department intervening to get the War Crimes trial in Spain of Bush, Cheney et al derailed. Well it finally jumped the shark when more than a few suggested that maybe Obama should be impeached over this.

So here is my diary on the subject. I thought it might be of some interest to Moosers.

Ok now this is just politically stupid. The House, out of  fear of Republicans using it against them decided to punt on voting on the Bush Tax cuts until after the mid-terms. Good grief if not this the Republicans will use some other piece of bull shit against them. And frankly not extending the Bush tax cuts on the upper 1% is a no brainer win.

So here is a list of the 44 House Dems that are shaking in their draws. If any of these folks is your Rep you might want to let them  know that you think being a coward is no way to represent the people or to win an election.
