Made Me Laugh

Dick Cavett was on MSNBC this afternoon and he was hysterical. First I was astonished that he is still alive. In an era of so many dead celebrities it was good to see Mr Cavett spry and dry as always;~J

In response to the question would Sarah Palin make a good tv host, Mr Cavett said “Nooo…”

You may remember his column the “Wild Wordsmith of Wassilla” last year.

She seems to have no first language and I really feel sorry for John McCain because he aimed low and missed. two three four

She obviously communicates because so many people seem to like her. And she looks nice and she’s got energy and so on.

The fact that you could take any five consecutive words out of any long sentence of hers and put them anywhere else in that paragraph without changing the meaning bothers me. And the fact that a presidential candidate was willing to put a no-nothing in the White House leading the leading country of the world.

Oh Those Lying Republicans

Today Representative Virginia Foxx from North Carolina took credit for republicans passing the Civil Rights legislation over Democratic opposition. MSNBC’s David Schuster covered the story earlier today and showed a clip of the following exchange on the House floor.

Some of the most important legislation our Federal Government has ever passed, was the Civil Rights legislation of the 1960’s. And to this day lawmakers in both party’s hailed the Congressional action as crucial to helping our nation become a more fair and just society. Today however, a republican House lawmaker named Virginia Foxx delivered a whopper about who supported the legislation and who did not.

Up, Down and Out

Some of you may have noticed that I have not been keeping up on my Daily Tubes lately. As I have felt that this was my major contribution to the Moose, and had consistently posted the tubes during the time I have had internet access, my failure to keep up on this has left me feeling rather guilty as of late. While I joke about things all of the time, the truth of the matter is that I suffer from a major mental illness. I am still ashamed to write these words as I have been a moderately successful and happy human being for the majority of my life.

However, over the past couple of years I have suffered from bipolar disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and major panic attacks. These problems have left me unable to work and at times unable to even function on the most basic of levels.

Wednesday November 5, 20009: The Day in Tubes

It has been feeling a lot like summer the last week or so. And I am not just talking about the weather. It seems as though teh crazy brigade is baaaaack!!!

Here is a clip of Chris Matthews talking to a total lunatic named Mark Williams.

Tuesday November 3, 2009: The Day in Tubes.

Unbelievably sad news today. More from the Onion.

All of those tragic deaths and not one of them Glenn Beck! Dear God, how much longer can we take this injustice? However, an Onion a day helps keep the Glenn Beck away.

Chris Matthews had an interesting conversation with Eric Cantor on Tuesday.

I am not that disturbed by yesterdays election results. Republicans are feeling overly smug and Democrats received a needed kick in the ass. I hope the pain is motivational.

Monday November 2, 2009: The Day in Tubes

It would appear that fox got a bit excited over the weekend about the upcoming election in New York’s 23rd district.

Oops. Gee whiz, that was fair and balanced (snark). What was it the White House was saying about fox the other day? Oh yeah. That they are a partisan wing of the conservative republican party. Maybe they will have to take out the republican part now.

Mr. Cavuto was a bit defensive about all of the criticism today.

“The (gentleman) doth protest too much, methinks.”

But look, “According to the fair play of the world, Let me have audience.”

So Shep, are you being sincere or are you just playing the game as well?

Daily Tubes for October 28 & 29, 2009

Faux “news” and republicans have been complaining that the White House is giving fixed “news” a rough time. Boo hoo. Why should the Obama Administration and Democrats give fox a pass? As far as I am concerned it is about time fox was outed for being a partisan tool of the republican party.
