Weeklong Welcomings from Moosylvania, July 6 – July 12

Welcome to The Moose Pond, where seldom is heard a discouraging word … wait … that’s The Range. Sometimes a discouraging word is heard at the pond but it is mostly words about the weather. 🙂

The Weeklong Welcomings feature provides the meese, new and old, a place to visit and share our words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit. In lieu of daily check-ins, which went on hiatus, a weekly welcomings diary will be posted every Sunday morning. To find the diary, just bookmark this link.

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining or bragging about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or just checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

    overnight.  Today, moving back to summer – high around 90, overnight low around 70 which will be way after my bedtime so the A/C is back on.  Monday a friend and I did a day trip to Mount Magazine State Park – only actually walked the last 1/2 mile to the top – which was lovely.  I had QC committee meetings Monday (Personnel), Tuesday (Finance), and yesterday (1st 2015 Budget) and am now dealing with an unpleasant attack of acid reflux complicated by sinusitis.  I will be so glad when this is over.  (Yes, I know, it was only the 1st meeting.)  Am in the process of finalizing the Spring 2015 class schedule.  The faculty isn’t back on contract until August 18th – whoever moved the deadline back on Spring Class entry is either so totally gormless they need a keeper or is sitting back going “nanny-nanny-boo-boo – made you work without pay!”  We won’t go into which I think it is.  So much for the rant.  Wonderful to have a place to do it! 🙂  Have a lovely weekend in Moosylvania.  {{{HUGS}}}

Thanks Jan…..this is a good plan.

My week has been fun but very busy with all the visiting family and dogs….one more patio dinner tonight (grilled steaks, corn on the cob, and a caprese salad. Ron’s brother my SIL left today, our daughter and her family go home in the morning, and Ron leaves for his fishing trip at 4:00 am tomorrow. So I’ll be all by my lonesome with lots of laundry!

See you in the morning 🙂

makes it easier to find 🙂

I missed it yesterday – but was busy celebrating my Priestess Birthday (called Ocha birthday) – which is a yearly anniversary of my initiation in 1998.  Spent a quiet day at home – meditating – and getting phone calls from my religious family and friends.

Usually it is a big deal with a ton of foods and guests – but preparing to head off to Netroots Nation, and the new puppy made me opt for keeping it very simple.

Didn’t really get online till BKos time.

Weather here has been lovely for the last two days but rain is in the offing

for 82. Hope it stays this way.

Happy Ocha Birthday, Dee and Bon Voyage to Netroots Nation in Detroit! The NYTimes has had a series of articles on saving Detroit. Am very curious to hear how bloggers see the city and am pleased that they are going there to support the city as are Rev Barber and VP Biden. Poor Detroit. It needs all the help it can get.

Hope it’s a great day for all Meese. I missed the super moon but might see a lesser version later. I forgot all about it.

Time now for coffee and the news but first………a thank you to Jan for making our own Netroots Moosylvania Nation happen.

Looks like Ron”s “gone fishing” and I just have one small dog claiming all the pillows this morning. The visiting grand puppies have totally broken my no dogs in bed rule!

I’m so sleepy….time to find some coffee and take the dogs out.

Need to stop by here more often.

72 and sunny here in Silly Con Valley. About to take a late shower then get back to work on clearing crap out of here; moving day is in about a month but want to clear a lot of stuff by the end of month when we get the pre-inspection. Not moving far, just a couple of blocks to a renovated apartment in the same complex, but I’m taking advantage of opportunity to get rid of 10 years of accumulated crap. Although a lot of our stuff is in plastic boxes which we’re going to move to a storage space so we can sort through them at our leisure.
