Friday Coffee Hour: Check In and Hangout for the Herd

Good morning, Moosekind. TGIF!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Recs on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

Friday Coffee Hour and check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

    on super typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan

With sustained winds of 315 kph (195 mph) and gusts as strong as 380 kph (235 mph), Haiyan was probably the strongest tropical cyclone to hit land anywhere in the world in recorded history. It will take further analysis after the storm passes to establish whether it is a record.

Gonna write a diary for my fundraising effort for the Childrens’ Shelter. I’m going to ask for fundraising ideas – I’ve got to get started to get to the $750 I need to raise.

It’s cold again. It may finally be the time of year to wear real shoes every day.

She was posting things about her daily life with relatives animal companions–didn’t mention the storm–on Facebook.

Another glorious morning here, not sure about temps as I’m over at my son’s house. Miss Pink Cheeks is eating breakfast and watching cartoons. Have to get her dressed and take her to day care. This is going to be the new order of the day for me. My son has a 90-minute commute to Maryland from his house in our Herndon neighborhood. Daughter-in-law leaves at 7 to commute downtown.

Apparently there’s a discrepancy in vote counting in the Virginia attorney general’s race! I hope the missing votes will break in favor of Mark Herring. We need him there in Richmond, not old “report your miscarriage to the police or go to jail for a year” Obenshain.

    Everyone have a good day!

My visit with the vascular surgeon went as I expected…..given the hereditary clotting disorder (Lieden Factor V)and the ongoing complications from BCH (blood clot hell) it’s best not to consider knee surgery. So I’ll continue to hobble forth to the PT pool and learn to use my cane with a less suffering attitude 🙂

The surgeon is brilliant, cautious, very caring, and a charming young woman. I know to trust her carefully reasoned opinion.
