Well if we’ve met you know I have 2 big passions besides electing more & better Democrats – AIDS Walk Austin (for which I have been the top fundraiser) and the Hill Country Ride for AIDS, which I’ll be participating in for the 14th time in – gulp – 5 weeks. I’ve been the top fundraiser for the Ride before & both the Ride and I had big fundraising goals this year. I wanted to be the top fundraiser, but that was disrupted by numerous trips to visit my mother in the hospital, so now my goal is to make it over $1,000. The Ride has a goal of $500,000. If you want to skip my cheesy U2 worshipping diary, here’s my Hill Country Ride for AIDS page.

The Daily F Bomb, Friday 3/22/13
Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday. Friday on my mind. Fried-day. Yes, it’s here. I no longer look so forward to the possibilities of a Friday night, but this week I am very much looking forward to the end of this work week. Enough already!

What is the closest you have ever come to fearing for your life? What is the closest you have come to wanting to make someone else fear for their life (at your hands)? What once-favorite thing have you totally lost interest in? What is your favorite season? What is your favorite Spring seasonal food?

Thursday Coffee Hour: Spring Peeking Out
Welcome to Thursday Coffee Hour. This is an open topic thread so help yourself to the goodies and sit a spell and let us know what is new in your life. What’s for supper? Currently I am concocting recipes that will use up the corned beef from St. Patrick’s Day. Spring is peeking around the corner here in North Carolina. A few of the trees are blooming but it looks like the rest are waiting to make sure winter has really gone away. I managed to get a few picture the other day.

From triciawyse:
Those of you who already either know me or know of me know that I am a massive pootie person. We moved into an apartment and now have a pootie, named Jenny; however I grew up with both cats & dogs and I love both. I do not discriminate against any animal & love animal photos of all kinds. Please enjoy the following and add any photos that you think the community would like to see. Now, enjoy the photos & have some fun.

Happy Thurthday, Bomberth! What a week it’s been, between work (memorable events) and Washington Warmongers (Holy Hubris, Batman!)… and then there’s Hamm’s salami, but let’s not go there…

How many hours would the day have to have for you to be able to do all you need to do? What would be worth going to war over? What is your version of the American Dream? What is the longest lasting earworm (song stuck in your head) that you ever had?

The Rulz
The most important rule around here is;
Be Kind to Each Other… or else.
Seriously though, if you don’t want it said to you, then don’t say it to someone else. Respect is an important thing. If you feel the need to not be respectful, then step away and take a breather. Political debate can be both spirited and respectful.

Woozles (and Other Critters) Wuv Spring
Twice a year, on the Solstice holidays, Basement Cat and Ceiling Cat are locked in mortal combat over the Light. At Winter Solstice, Ceiling Cat prevails and the light starts returning … gradually the memory of basement cat fades until finally the light and dark are equal on Spring Equinox.

What musical event from any era in history would you like to be able to witness (as a fly on the wall or a human in the crowd). This could include anything from opera premieres, Mozart composing something, or the Festival Express, as long as it involves music. What historical political event would you like to be a fly on the wall at? What sounds can you absolutely not tolerate? What is your favorite feeling? What is your favorite memory of your parents?
