Since 2008 – Progress Through Politics

Palin/Beck 2012

Sarah Palin has dominated the airwaves since the release of her new book, “Going Rogue”.  On FOX News and far-right radio the book itself is hailed as perhaps the first publication with more native value than the King James Bible and the ‘author’ herself as the human incarnation of Joan of Arc, Jesus Christ and Ronald Reagan rolled into a single package.  On all other media, the book itself is given at best extremely light and polite treatment.  More often – even on the right-but-not-insane morning radio show I listen to, it has been met with at best honest analytical disparagement (like when former Reagan staffer David Gergen stated that there is no chance anyone can write a book like that “and ever hold elected office again in their life”).  At worst – and most common – the book has induced gales of howling ridicule.

Which explains why Newsmax is panting about a possible Palin/Beck ticket for 2012.

(Because You Just Can’t Have Too Much Sarah.)

David A. Patten at Newsmax has this:

Palin-Beck Ticket? Sarah Doesn’t Rule it Out

It’s no secret that former GOP vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Fox News host Glenn Beck share great respect and admiration – so their fans can be forgiven for wondering: Is a “dream ticket” of Palin-Beck ticket completely out of the question?

Perhaps not.

Palin initially chuckled when Newsmax broached the idea. But then she had some serious words of praise for the popular Fox personality.

“I can envision a couple of different combinations, if ever I were to be in a position to really even seriously consider running for anything in the future, and I’m not there yet,” Palin tells Newsmax. “But Glenn Beck I have great respect for. He’s a hoot. He gets his message across in such a clever way. And he’s so bold – I have to respect that. He calls it like he sees it, and he’s very, very, very effective.”

Well, wouldn’t that just be the coolest things since sliced bread.  The nuclear meltdown of the Republican Grand Ole Party.

Of course, this is not only the same publication but the same issue that also contains an infomercial titled:

“You Don’t Eat Enough Fat”

Says Respected Doctor

No Kidding, Keep Reading!

Assuming there is something more to this than simply a lot of mercury in the water at Newsmax Center, it is something to marvel at.  Considering that only about 20% of people now consider themselves Republicans and that 29% of people think that Sarah Palin is qualified to be president, it isn’t inconceivable that she could actually win the 2012 GOP primary.  Having gotten that amount of confidence-crack into her bloodstream, I wouldn’t find it unbelievable for her to “go rogue” again and ask Rush’s replacement at the head of the Bunker Militia to join her in leading the GOP to humiliating defeat?

What do you think?  Absolutely and completely impossible, or perhaps possible under just the right set of mayonnaise-induced psychotic conditions?
