The policies that George Bush and John McCain have pursued have finally resulted in World Peace and harmony between the United States and Muslim extremists.
Today in Yemen, Islamic Jihad celebrated the New World Order of tolerance and understanding by exploding a “car gift” outside the gates of the US embassy in Yemen.
BEIRUT, Lebanon — Heavily armed militants opened fire on the U.S. Embassy in Sana, Yemen on Wednesday morning and detonated a car bomb at its gates, killing at least four Yemeni guards, Yemeni officials said.
No Americans were killed or injured in the blast, said a Yemeni official, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to discuss the matter.
Ryan Gliha, an embassy spokesman, said via e-mail that the attack took place at 9:15 a.m. He said there had been reports of casualties, and that the embassy would remain closed for now, but gave no further details.
The gesture of mutual goodwill began with the traditional firing of guns and rocket-propelled grenades.
The attack began when a car raced up to the heavily fortified U.S. embassy compound. Several attackers got out and began firing rocket-propelled grenades and automatic rifles at the guards who returned the fire, the Yemeni official said.
A second car then drove into the compound’s gate and exploded in what appeared to be a suicide bombing, the official said.

Sixteen Yemenis are known to have died in today’s attack, so far. Yemen will be familiar to Americans as the place where the USS Cole was attacked on October 12, 2000.
While it is not my intent to lay the entire responsibility for today’s attack at the feet of the GOP – the people who did this bear that guilt – one should ponder what continuing the Bush policies for another four years will do to advance peace in the world. It is worth thinking about how a pro-war President McCain and an extreme Evangelical Christian “we are on a Mission From God” President-in-waiting Palin will foster – or not – international cooperation and global cohesion.
Now is not the time – if in fact it ever is the time – to elect religious extremists to office as heads of state.
