Lounge: Why Won’t the President Just Kick it in the Nuts?

MOOOOOOOOOOOOSE!

Everything old is new again.  I was sitting down and writing a piece about last week’s debate when I noticed that I was producing something chapter and verse I had written before.  So I thought WTH let’s see what the herd thinks if i just threw it out there without editing.  Fit today?

The Sikh That Defined Whiteness in America

The shootings at the Oak Creek Gurdwara reminded me of the story of Bhagat Singh Thind who could be fairly described as the man who caused the United States Supreme Court to define White in the same way that inspired the murderous Wade Page.

F You Pay Me: Bain’s Business Model Explained

MOOOOOOSE!

Barack Obama has come out with a dynamite ad following up on the idea put forth by Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum.  Namely that Mitt’s experience at Bain was that of a rapacious vulture capitalist.  I’m going to take it one step further and truly define Mitt Romney.  He’s Pauley.  Do the jump to see what I mean; the video is not safe for work.

An Adept’s Tribute to Cory Booker

http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-50…

Newark Mayor Cory Booker called it his “come to Jesus moment” when he ran into a burning building to save a neighbor’s life.

Booker arrived home last night to discover his next-door neighbor’s house on fire, and rescued a young woman trapped upstairs by carrying here through the flames, suffering second-degree burns in the process.

I think we’ve all heard about the heroic actions of Mayor Booker and how Twitter erupted in admiration.  I had so much fun constructing Cory Booker stories I thought I’d collect and share them.  Feel free to add any you thought were funny.

Life on Mars?

MOOOOOSE!

I think you know I will see things on occasion and come running in here with a Moose call.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/47…

New analysis of 36-year-old data, resuscitated from printouts, shows NASA found life on Mars, an international team of mathematicians and scientists conclude in a paper published this week.

Further, NASA doesn’t need a human expedition to Mars to nail down the claim, neuropharmacologist and biologist Joseph Miller, with the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, told Discovery News.

“The ultimate proof is to take a video of a Martian bacteria. They should send a microscope – watch the bacteria move,” Miller said.

“On the basis of what we’ve done so far, I’d say I’m 99 percent sure there’s life there,” he added.

Wow!

What do you call a baby Moose? Overdose of Joy Open Thread

I love to make food for my baby and watch her eat.   A game arose between us from when she was learning to talk that I’d ask her “big hungry or little hungry”.  We always knew the answer to the question it was big hungry, but the ritual was comforting intimate.  Well one day 9 months ago as I’m preparing to do my barbecue magic I ran the question by her again big hungry or little hungry?  She said she was little hungry.  I walked away as waves of wonder hit me that was strange huh? Is she sick? Oh no what’s the matter!

She didn’t make me wait to long she sat us me down and told me she was expecting, oh so that’s why you’re little hungry.  9 months later the second most precious gift I’ve ever received is here.  Behold Sean Lucien my Grandchild I love more than my next breath.  Welcome to the world baby Grampy has been dying to meet you.

RIP Andrew Breitbart

Under normal circumstances there would be no way on earth I’d quote from or link to Big Government, but now isn’t a normal circumstance.  It appears Andrew Breitbart has passed away of natural causes.

http://bigjournalism.com/lsolo…

Andrew passed away unexpectedly from natural causes shortly after midnight this morning in Los Angeles.

We have lost a husband, a father, a son, a brother, a dear friend, a patriot and a happy warrior.

Andrew lived boldly, so that we more timid souls would dare to live freely and fully, and fight for the fragile liberty he showed us how to love.

Andrew recently wrote a new conclusion to his book, Righteous Indignation:

I love my job. I love fighting for what I believe in. I love having fun while doing it. I love reporting stories that the Complex refuses to report. I love fighting back, I love finding allies, and-famously-I enjoy making enemies.

Three years ago, I was mostly a behind-the-scenes guy who linked to stuff on a very popular website. I always wondered what it would be like to enter the public realm to fight for what I believe in. I’ve lost friends, perhaps dozens. But I’ve gained hundreds, thousands-who knows?-of allies. At the end of the day, I can look at myself in the mirror, and I sleep very well at night.

Andrew is at rest, yet the happy warrior lives on, in each of us

The View From Palmour Street

MOOOOOOSE!

I was just kicking it watching the old Twitter stream when someone I follow put up a video by their cousins.

25 seconds in I go HEY THAT’S My Muhdear! (Grandmother)  want to find out how she got there?

Lounge: Swoooon! Obama sings for the Apollo

I understand some #OWS folks made it a point to protest this appearance and in that protest decided to call this President Hitler.  SMDH!

I’m not going to talk about that.  Nope.  Instead let’s listen to the dulcet tones of Barack Obama

Is this the Bill Clinton playing the sax moment for his four more years movement?

Republicans..Same as it ever was

The Republican party is blowing the dog whistle of racism and calls for white superiority again except this time it is as loud as an air raid siren.  Over this past week we have had two major Republican figures reach for the white race card.  I’m really in a blah mood over it and as a member of the NAACP I think I want to yell something else at Newt Gingrich.

Playing on racial hatred is nothing new for the Republican Party.  It has been part of their electoral strategy from the days of Nixon and the early 70’s.  The Republicans adopted racial polarization as an electoral strategy.
