Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: Dec. 7th thru Dec. 13th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings diaries give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

In lieu of daily check-ins, which have gone on hiatus, Welcomings diaries will be posted at the start of each week (every Sunday morning) and then, if necessary due to a large number of comments, again on Wednesday or Thursday to close out the week. To find the diaries, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

    Good Morning Meese

On my 3rd cuppa coffee – searching the news for good news, not finding much.

Would appreciate any and all 🙂

Eating breakfast, watching Up. It was chilly yesterday, but I didn’t think it was uncomfortably cold – but this morning, I am wheezy. Grrr.

Today: figure out next week’s food – I think I have enough lunch left over not to cook for that. And evening church – we have a Lessons & Carols that is just gorgeous – all candlelight & just really nice.

Certain dates stick in my memory: October 14–the Battle of Hastings. Aug. 4–the day Anne Frank and her family were arrested. And, of course, Pearl Harbor Day.

Haven’t looked at the news yet, have been too preoccupied with my own concerns. Plan to do a LOT today. Have been completely unable to download the BookBaby book proof to my iPad. They said to “side load” (whatever the hell that means) through iTunes to my iPad to iBooks. I don’t even have iTunes as a separate app on the iPad! In Settings it just says “App Store and iTunes.” Oh, well, I suppose I can get on the phone with Apple for another 2 hours tonight.

Yesterday I made the Christmas pudding. Dearly Beloved and I both stirred it as we made our wishes for the coming year and it smelt heavenly! Just hope it tastes good. We’ll have it Christmas day, of course, along with mince tarts. However, since there will be total abstainers from alcohol present, I’m also going to make Orange Almond Cake, which, despite having no frosting, is of a deliciousness impossible to describe. It has oranges and lemons in it and tastes like Christmas.

Hope everyone will have a good day.

on the various rape cases, but still being angry almost 30 years later about the fraternity gang rape of my best friend in college (who, of course, went completely unpunished) means it is hard for me to hear even people who are saying all the right things.

We made slow progress on the Christmas magic yesterday….the tree is still in the garage not taking up water so it may have to go back to The Garden Spot for one that does, packages are finally ready to ship but I missed the time yesterday so they’ll go on Monday, the Christmas Spode is still in the cupboard, my stash of greens for the outdoor pots needs berries and branches I didn’t have time to cut…..messy progress as well as slow!

Oh well, at least I can officially enjoy seasonal music while I muddle on.

  6. It is 31 degrees in Madison on its way up to 35. Icy precipitation is falling from the sky right now and there is a winter travel advisory until 6am as it is putting a coating of ice on the street. The advisory suggests that the ice will be .10 of an inch. Sadly, with ice it does not take much to make it impossible to gain traction. I don’t have to go anywhere until at least noon but I hope it clears up before the buses start picking kids up for school.

President Obama is inking up his veto pen and that is good news for us:

White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said if Congress assembles legislation that Obama opposes, the White House will threaten vetoes and “if Congress decides to pass them anyway, then we’ll veto them.”

“We’re not going to go out looking for them, but we’re not going to run from them either,” he said.

If the new Congress demonstrates an unwillingness to accept an adult role in governing and wastes their time on show votes to appeal to their base in the run-up to 2016, they will own the resulting gridlock. Some bills, including critical highway funding, can no longer be kicked down the road. They will have to pass something that would gain Democratic votes in the House (the teaparty caucus in the House will not vote to fund any part of the government), survive a Democratic filibuster and that the president will sign. Yes, they will make things difficult because the Senate will block all of the president’s nominees but if Mitch McConnell chooses to keep the 50+1 for cabinet and judicial confirmations (he suggested he would), there might be a few endangered Republican senators who would be willing to vote to confirm.

    See all y’all later.

in the Catskills and with wind chill it feels even colder – just let all 3 dogs out and they were back in a flash.

Enjoying a day of rest at home – have 2 more days of school – to collect final exam papers – then grading, then Freedom!!!

  8. Diana in NoVa

Yikes, your weather sounds awful, Jan and Denise!

Jan, agree completely that if the Rethugs don’t want to govern they should get a taste of the veto pen. What a loathsome, racist bunch they are! May karma deal with them as they deserve.

Denise, you must be looking forward to the break! I used to love being off between Christmas and New Year when I was in the labor force. Did a lot of relaxing and planning.

Was too busy yesterday washing and cooking to get in touch with Apple. Did manage to proof the manuscript on the Mac, though, and found a few errors, some of them mine, some theirs.

Made chicken-and-vegetable soup in the crockpot all night, turned it off when I got up this morning. The kitchen smells wonderful! I’ll refrigerate it before going to work.

Hope everyone will have a good day!

26 but  heading for 35 so am not sure whether to get out my winter coat. Think I will hunt up my gloves, though.

About to read tho read the news. Realize that I am waiting for a new social justice charismatic leader to emerge, a new MLK, someone who will inspire all Americans. Yes, I know,” we all are the leader we have been waiting for”, but …..

Hope it’s a good day throughout Mooseland.

It’s 50, headed to a high in the 60s. I had to wear real shoes & a sweater, so, not warm by my definition.

One of my favorite theology writers was in town this weekend. I missed it because Friday night started at 7:30 & I get up at 5:30 Saturday mornings, so that was way late for me. And I missed the rest of his talks, too. Anyway, here’s a cute exchange on twitter – he “favorited” my last comment:

    Peter Rollins ‏@PeterRollins

Heading home after a few amazing days in Austin. I’ve even come to love Tacos

    Becky ‏@beckythecyclist

@PeterRollins Sorry I missed you! But how can you not love tacos??

Peter Rollins ‏@PeterRollins 15h15 hours ago

@beckythecyclist was never a fan of them… Until now

    Becky ‏@beckythecyclist 15h15 hours ago

@PeterRollins when you come back to Austin, I’ll take you to the place with the best grilled avocado tacos ever

I skipped the 2nd service last night, despite the candles & stuff. Just didn’t want to go back out. I’m eating breakfast – the sweet potato/mango/black bean dish from last week, with some Greek yogurt & protein powder added.

Must walk after work today. I’m not exercising enough to make the progress I need to do the half in February, mush less run any portion of it.

Earworm is Spanish Eyes. Was playing in my head when I woke up. I do wonder what goes on in my head that music is playing when I wake up.

I started a “decorate The Tree at grandma’s’ tradition 11 years ago as I wanted my grandsons to know each other and also to bridge a divide in the family.  The first ones were a bit rocky but now – We had a lovely family visit yesterday – including an hour Skype visit with my younger son and family – and the tree looks lovely. I’ll need to remove the popcorn string soon – they used buttered popcorn to make it and I don’t need to attract critters to my holiday tree!  The kids are all butter hounds during the holidays – I swear they go through more butter starting Thanksgiving through New Year than I use in an entire year – maybe two.  It’s a good thing the holidays don’t last long or I’d be seeing a specialist about gall bladder problems!  Stuff tastes good though. 🙂

    I was met by faculty walking in, got phone calls before I could even get the coffee on, for the last week of classes we’re starting out crazy.  Overcast and chilly again today, dammit (forecast said sunny and 50s – we’ve got cloudy and 40s).  Have the good week.  {{{HUGS}}}

  12. princesspat

As I suspected the tree had to go back and a fresh one is now in the garage, drinking water I hope! We’ve been regular customers for years so the owner generously added to my twig bundle, and a new hellebore came home with me as well.

My knees are requesting a time out already today, so no pool as I’ve got to keep making progress on my Christmas list. Just thinking about it makes me weary!

  13. It is 31 degrees in Madison with an expected high of 32. We had a light dusting of snow overnight but it does not appear to have stuck on the streets. Partly cloudy skies later today.

Busy day here. See all y’all later!

  14. DeniseVelez

ice, sleet, freezing rain, high winds and flooding.

Glad I can stay home, but hubby has to go out in this.

I am sitting here annoyed with my local public radio station.

I usually listen to it all day – while doing other things.

Yesterday I had to turn it off because one of my favorite programs which is about books, and does interviews with authors was interviewing Chuck Todd about his book “The Stranger” which is a hit-job on President Obama.

    Ugh.

Thankfully it has gotten pretty bad reviews.

so I tuned in this morning – and double ugh – they were re-running the show.

I will listen to music till they put something else on.

  15. anotherdemocrat

Chilly this morning (y’all in northern climes, stop laughing) – I kinda wished I had long sleeves on under my favorite green blazer. 46 this morning heading to a high of 66.

Melancholy this morning – with the anniversary of Lennon’s death yesterday; and of Michael Hutchence’s last week (how can that have been 17 years ago? Everything about that was just so sad). Earworm is Beautiful Girl by INXS. Sweet song, beautiful video about all the negative messages girls & women get about our bodies. I wish Michael had stayed with us longer.

Today at work, we’re having a crafts & bake sale benefiting our Christmas families. Even though we’re a small agency (under150 ppl), we adopt 2 families from the Christmas bureau. And there are great gift baskets being raffled. I’m going to put most of the tickets I buy into the chocolate basket. Tuesday might be a worthwhile day this week. (Tuesday is the farthest from the weekend – last weekend has faded from memory & next weekend is too far away to see)

  16. princesspat

I did get the packages in the mail yesterday…..a big (expensive) relief! Then I rested, so my list remains long. Oh well, muddling along is just the way it is this year.

  17. Diana in NoVa

It’s 33 F., going up to 41 F., and raining like blazes. This morning when I went out to my car it was covered with slushy ice. I picked up the baby and brought him home. Son took Nora to school.

It’s hard to focus on anything but the terrible accident in Maryland yesterday. You’ve probably heard of the plane that crashed into three houses. The young mother who was at home with her three-year-old and six-week-old boys tried to protect them by sheltering upstairs in a windowless bathroom but all three perished. Heartbreaking!

Baby is asleep, I’m about to get on the phone with Apple Support to resolve the iPad issue. Will this book ever get published?

Hope everyone will have a decent day, despite the news and weather.

  18. bfitzinAR

    Late this morning as I had to wait for a repair guy – had to replace the igniter on my oven again.  The replaced part only lasted 2-1/2 years.  If this one doesn’t last at least 3 years I’m replacing the stove which I really don’t want to do.  Got QC tonight – Finance Committee – hope we can “adjust” the 2015 Budget to allow hiring a former JP as County Attorney.  He wants $5K more than the range we set but he’s got a whole lot of experience.  I know at least 2 who will vote against it.  sigh.  Anyway, got stuff to do.  {{{HUGS}}}

  19. It’s 25 degrees in Madison on its way up to 29. Cloudy skies this morning giving way to sunshine in the afternoon.

It appears that there is a Congressional budget deal. I have not seen the specifics yet but it sounds like it funds most of the government for another year. And Harry Reid appears to be ready to keep the Senate in session until they confirm some nominees. I hope he realizes how important the next two weeks are. There will be no confirmations for the next two years that won’t come with strings attached to the president’s initiatives. Or judges whose judicial bent tips even slightly left. Batten down the hatches … we are in for a rough ride over the next two years and we will need an honest intelligent judiciary and a full complement of administration appointees to weather the storm.

    See all y’alls later!!

mid thirties with rain, rain, rain. The news is certainly not good. I need very strong coffee and a very strong stomach to start reading the torture report.

Hoping for a good day for all throughout our small planet.

  21. Diana in NoVa

today. It must have rained during the night because the street outside my window is still drying off.

It’s funny how Morning Check-In here on the Moose has become as important to my day as the APR at Orange used to be. I have so little time for blogs nowadays, with taking care of the baby. The poor little mite has another little toof coming, which made him restless and uncomfortable yesterday.

No comment on the news except that I’m still enraged by the torture report and the claims by former CIA directors that torture “saves lives”–yeah, just like “we had to destroy the village in order to save it” in the Vietnam years.

Wishing everyone in Mooseland a good day!

  22. anotherdemocrat

Eating breakfast, drinking tea. It’s supposed to rain this afternoon, which would be great, the lakes are only 1/3 full. I had to wear shoes & a jacket today, but tomorrow may be a sandals & long sleeves day, hope so.

Playing City of Blinding Lights deliberately in my head because I need happy, soaring music.

  23. DeniseVelez

but dogs had me up at 1:30 AM – freaked out by the howling winds here – and I fell back asleep this morning.

    Yawn.

Now have to buckle down to my writing deadlines.

    Seeya all later.

The cozy Christmas house I’m working so hard to create feels like a refuge today. Listening to the news yesterday and reading the NYT this morning is sad and sobering. It’s frightening to know that many with the ideologically driven decision making of the Bush years remain in power.

President Obama has so many hard decisions to make. May he stay strong.

  25. bfitzinAR

    last night.  By something like 400 votes.  Which was actually better than I thought it would be, this only being our 2nd try at equality in the workplace.  (It usually takes 3 tries and 20 years to get things like this done in Fay.)  QC last night ran long, but we got the funding approved in committee (still has to go to the full QC next week) for a qualified and experienced County Attorney.  Grievance hearing next week was canceled – ex-employee prefers to sue the County rather than file a grievance (which hopefully will be looked upon negatively by whatever Judge this comes under), so only one more meeting (unless something else comes up) and that’s that.  Meeting upstairs this morning was good for the Chair and in-coming Chair – main good thing about me being there was 1) I knew what the heck was being said so I didn’t have to call and get clarification when the Chairs came downstairs and tried to tell me about it and 2) I could answer questions and clarify issues that came up that the guy in the Dean’s office didn’t know anything about.  Main not good thing about the meeting is I’m behind on the stuff I walked in the door to so gotta get to it.  {{{HUGS}}}

  26. It is 21 degrees in Madison with an expected high of 31. Mostly sunny skies.

Storms on both coasts, yikes! Stay safe everyone.

As expected, the budget bill hit a snag because Republicans could not resist festooning it with ornaments for their patrons on Wall Street. On the right, the Heritage Action stepford children are being told to not vote for it because it includes blanket amnesty for all current and future undocumented immigrants (insert eyeroll here). So if the bill is to pass, the Wall Street big sloppy kisses will have to be removed because the president will not sign a bill that negates his executive order.

Goodness, what an insane form of government we have created!

    See all y’alls later!

  27. Diana in NoVa

Not much news to report. Corrected the book proof last night–now supposed to export it to MS Word and upload it again. I want to look at it one more time before I do that.

For all I’ve been threatening to call Apple Support, I still haven’t done it, mainly because I’m too exhausted after dinner. Tomorrow is one of Mr. Baby’s day care days, and after that I will be taking Miss Pink Cheeks to the dentist. Grandpa will  take her home while I undergo a root canal–ugh.

So much to do–wrapping the children’s Christmas presents, decorating the tree, preparing Christmas boxes for the newspaper lady, garbage guys, and so forth. All will have to be done this weekend.

Wishing a good day to everyone in Mooseland!

  28. DeniseVelez

cold, damp, snow on the ground here.

Hope our friends in CA are prepared for the major weather coming their way…and stay safe.

  29. anotherdemocrat

not a lot & it’s gone now, but something is better than nothing

Stayed home from work. Didn’t seep super well, and I have a minimum of 1 of our rotating duties, some days 2, every day from tomorrow through next week. Those aren’t onerous tasks, but I just thought this was my last chance to rest before Christmas. Also, this gives me enough time to take a really long walk this afternoon.

No music in my head this morning. Though now that I’m thinking about music, last night’s tune from Sugar/Bob Mould has started playing.

I hope I actually get some stuff done today.

  30. bfitzinAR

    Walked in the door to busy-ness but I’m getting a handle on most of it.  At the moment waiting for a cost center number to finish a piece I’m in the middle of so thought I’d better check in while I could.  The search for a replacement dogsbody, I mean non-tenure track asst professor, has so far not brought anyone we’re willing to hire so we’re cobbling things together to cover the classes the departing faculty would have been teaching.  We’ve canceled one class, moved a couple of faculty around, have 2 professors on “overload” and are in the process of hiring 2 law enforcement people to teach one class each.  (The current Chair is of the opinion that any law enforcement experience is all that’s needed to qualify someone to teach academic criminal justice classes, even at the upper-division level.  No comment.)  Hope things are going well for everyone.  {{{HUGS}}}

  31. princesspat

With no wind and rain this morning it seems very quiet outside. For some reason I’ve been waking up between 1:00 and 4:00 am and when I finally go back to sleep and wake up again my day starts late. I’m getting enough sleep, just not at the right time.

I had a nice Christmas moment with my Oregon daughter and grand girl yesterday. Their boxes arrived, and via phone and texts we shared the fun as they opened them. Along with the wrapped “save for Christmas” packages I had included books with a dog theme for Sophia to read and enjoy….and she did! It was very fun to see her face and hear her excitement as she realized she could read the stories. Made paying the exorbitant shipping costs feel lots better.

I left my comfy job of five years last month for a new opportunity. It blew up in my face and now I’m unemployed.

Is there anything more soul crushing that job hunting in America today? No real people to talk to, just online job banks. Create an account, pick a username and password, pick five security questions in case you can’t access your account.

Why do I need an account? I’m applying for a job, not singing up for Facebook. I hope to never have to access this account again after a few weeks.

37 resumes in 3 weeks. I just want to go back to work. Ugh.

  33. It is 26 degrees in Madison with an expected high of 36. Partly cloudy skies in the forecast. We will get into the 40s over the weekend.

The CRappy CRomnibus bill passed. I am glad that the government won’t shut down but sad that the banksters who crashed our economy (why aren’t those guys in jail?????) used a government shutdown as extortion to gut key provisions of Dodd-Frank. From what I understand, the Republicans wanted worse gutting and this was some sort of compromise. ::sigh:: So now the FDIC is on the hook for banks losing money over the sale of derivatives. Luverly. You know, the teaparty grassroots were angry over government bailout of banks and voted in Republicans, the party of the banks. Now that Republicans are in charge, guess who wins? Banks!!! Chumps. If you want to regulate financial activities, you vote for the party of good government, not the party of no government.

I am normally a silver lining type of person and an Obama-bot but I am going to need a few days to get my pompoms fluffed up before I cheer again. Good for Nancy Pelosi for sticking up for the little people. I hope someday the little people remember that.

    See all y’alls later!!

  34. DeniseVelez

Have my first final exam today, the second next Tuesday – then it’s grading papers and semester over.  Won’t go back till Jan 21.

Had good news – after dog ate my glasses, my vision care center told me my insurance had “lapsed” (?) and I was going to have to pay for both eye exam (Medicaid does not cover) and new glasses – mine are pretty expensive (In the past I’ve gotten glasses free via union coverage every 2 years)

Called Davis Vision (the company that covers me) and they siad “Yes – you are lapsed” (???? – weird – I’m still in the union)

Called the union and they said – no – you are not lapsed – we’ve had tons of these calls – we changed ID numbers and no longer use SS #.  The other good news was they now cover new glasses every year (not every two) and hubby is covered for same (his insurance does not cover vision)

So instead of shelling out around $300 bucks tomorrow – everything is gonna be free, and I will soon be able to see well again while driving and typing.

    Kudos to my union.

  35. anotherdemocrat

Warm enough for sandals. It may rain this weekend, and then get cooler next week. They said the real cold is coming Christmas week. But today – sandals.

Deeply disappointed about yesterday’s vote. Maybe the Senate can fix this bill.

When I woke up, Yahweh was playing in my head. But my current earworm is Song for Someone. Hoping today is not insanely busy at work.

  36. DeniseVelez

the consummate politician smells the way the wind is blowing and came out for criminal Justice reform – in terms of prosecutors

Gov. Cuomo promises to introduce criminal justice reforms in the new year

    http://www.nydailynews.com/blo

Gov. Cuomo plans to introduce a package of criminal justice reforms in the new year that may include a more expansive use of special prosecutors than proposed by state Attorney General Eric Schneiderman.

A day after he discussed police reforms with hip hop mogul Jay Z, Cuomo told reporters at the Capitol that he’s considering the use of special prosecutors for cases involving a wider range of possible police misconduct than just those involving the death of an unarmed civilian.

“Does a person have to die?” Cuomo said. “So you can beat a person senseless, but if the person doesn’t die than there’s no special prosecutor . That doesn’t make sense either, really. So you have to talk these issues through.”

Schneiderman this week asked Cuomo to sign an executive order giving the attorney general’s office the power to usurp local district attorneys in cases where unarmed people are killed by police.

heh – he wants to position himself as more liberal on this issue than Eric Schneiderman – who many of us would like to see as the next G0v.

  37. DeniseVelez

once again I have to hear Democrats (or people who say they are) talking about leaving the country, refusing to vote..voting for various third parties…

    Sigh.

I’m headed tomorrow morning to a breakfast meeting with local Democrats – we are mapping out new local outreach strategies, have redone our local leadership structure to include more progressives – and are working on more clearly defining what we are “for” rather than simply “against.”

I have no time for all the angst and agita.

Am focused on local – but with one eye clearly on national police criminal justice, movement building with NC/Moral Monday at the center, and women’s issues – especially reproductive health, rape and violence.

I ain’t got time for folks who don’t seem to get the long haul piece.

Sorry to dump here – but if not here – where?

  38. bfitzinAR

    I’m a bit fuzzy today.  Lodger put her dog on the front porch at 3 am.  Dog barked until 5:50 when the kittehs started reminding me it was time to feed kittehs.  Dog then shut up until I left for work.  I heard her starting up again as I crossed the street.  And I’ve got too damn much stuff requiring my brain to be at top functioning today for this kind of crap.  Oh well.  Hope coffee can help.  Faculty meeting starting right now – fortunately they know better than to ask me to take notes – but that means I’m soloing until the meeting is over since Natalia is in there taking notes.  Overcast and drizzly again today.  That doesn’t help any either.  sigh.  Need moar coffee.  Where’s iriti’s Starbucks IV when I need it?  snicker.  {{{HUGS}}}

  39. princesspat

But no wind warnings today, which is a relief. Last night the wind was sounding quite fierce.

So the Christmas tree is finally decorated and shining in the corner…..and overnight developed ominous tilt. Ron thinks he can tie it to the wall but it looks like gravity may have a say regardless. ::sigh:: Maybe after this year he agree to a tree in a box. I’ll fill a container with fresh greens so we’ll have that Christmas tree smell in the house, promise!

  40. It is 34 degrees in Madison on its way up to 42. Cloudy skies are in the forecast.

I can’t find where the CRomnibus was actually passed and signed so I wonder if the House passed some kind of “stay alive” bill to extend the government funding deadline a couple of days until the Senate can finish their debate.

HAHAHAHA!! I just went looking and indeed the House passed a short term bill to extend the deadline for 5 more days (until Wednesday) which the Senate expected to pass immediately so they could go home for the weekend. Instead a big argument has broken out, this time with the teaparty Senators who want a vote on defunding President Obama’s immigration policy in return for bypassing the normal 30 hour debate rule. This is a delightful staged play, complete with Ted Cruz’s concern trolling, Mike Lee’s nativist ranting, and Jefferson Beauregard Sessions’ sputtering hatred of the browns … and sleepless nights!!

Reid denied Lee’s request, and as a result the Senate will be back on Saturday at noon to start as many as 40 procedural votes on nominations. It also sets up a procedural vote for the spending bill for 1 a.m. on Sunday morning to get to the previously scheduled vote expected on Monday. A Senate leadership aide told NBC News that leadership is now calling Senator’s offices to prepare them for the 1 a.m. vote.

If the Senate is unable to pass the short term bill that funds the government until Wednesday, the government could shut down Sunday. […]

The conservative objections appear to even come as surprise to even McConnell who was seen walking into an elevator in the U.S. Capitol, telling reporters he would see them Monday.

There you have it. In the first test of the “power” of Mitch McConnell to control his caucus and show the country that the GOP knows how to govern: FAIL.

I did find a few good things in the CRomnibus bill and an explanation of why the rollback of some of the Dodd-Frank safeguards might not be as bad as it appears. I will probably post something on that because it helps to know that Democrats have not thrown in the towel.

    See all y’alls later!

    neighbor’s fireplace. Chilly–currently 34 F., going up to 47 F.

We have to eat an early breakfast because Miss Pink Cheeks’ acting class is putting on a play this morning and tomorrow morning.

Avoided the root canal yesterday! The dentist conducted a series of tests and then said my tooth has settled down so much she doesn’t see the necessity of doing something as drastic as that. Curiously, after she said that the tooth pain seems to have gone and I haven’t had to hit the Advil bottle at all in 36 hours.

There’s going to be a huge protest march on the Capitol today as the Senate is still in session. People are coming in from all over the country to join the march against police murders of unarmed black men. Wish I could go too.

The iPad issue seems to have been resolved. It was such a serious issue that Apple Support didn’t even charge me for the 5 hours I spent on the phone with them–even though my free support thingy expired a year and a half ago. Now that it’s resolved perhaps I can download the new book proof when it comes.

Hope everyone will have a good day! (Waving)

  42. princesspat

The wind is quiet again this morning which is a relief. We had quite a cleanup yesterday…..leaves and branches were all over the garden and on the porches.

And the tree is securely tied to the wall so more Christmas errands fun will continue today! Followed by a nap…
