Tuesday Morning Herd Check-in

Make sure you let your peeps

  know where to find you!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the Weather Critter Comment are obligatory welcome.

The morning check-in is an open thread posted to give you a place to visit with the meeses. Feel free to chat about your weather, share a bit of your life, grump (if you must), rave (if you can). The diarist du jour sometimes posts and runs, other times sticks around for a bit, often returns throughout the day and always cares that meeses are happy … or at least contented.

For those new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones. Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment threads grow, the page takes longer to refresh and the comment may not display right away.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, … or Meh. Just Meh. (p.s. Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does).

– The Recommended list has a prominent place on the Front Page because it reflects the interests of the Moose. When people drive-by, we want them to see what we are talking about: news, politics, science, history, personal stories, culture. The list is based on number of recs and days on the list. Per Kysen: “The best way to control Rec List content is to ONLY rec diaries you WANT to see ON the list.

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

  1. His high school Not-a-Pal David Wildstein is cooperating with the federal prosecutor on the bridge closing scandal.

Exclusive: Christie Prosecutor Gets Its Star Witness to Start Talking

Esquire has learned from sources close to the investigation that David Wildstein, the former Port Authority operative who helped plan and execute the Great Fort Lee Clusterfk, is now cooperating with Paul Fishman, the federal prosecutor investigating the soon-to-be-ex-governor and his minions for criminal conduct. Fishman has also increased the number of investigators at work on the case, and has begun presenting evidence and witnesses to a grand jury in Newark.

What!!??!! The exoneration report that Christie hired a team of lawyers to produce is not enough for the feds??!!??

It wasn’t just a thunderstorm last night – there was hail, also. Wow. And it is chilly this morning – 50. I had to wear socks, even with my wrappings.

Jimmy Carter is in town today for the Civil Rights commemoration — Big Dog tomorrow, Obama Thursday, and for some reason they invited Dubya. I’m getting Carter’s book on how religion has oppressed women – there’s lots of excited talk about it at my church. I have so much reading — still working on Peter Rollins (& I bought 3 more of his books, there was a sale), I bought 2 by Borg last weekend, and I have this big book about Jerusalem….. I gotta read more.

breakfast: quinoa, kale, other stuff; tea of course

I can see blue sky, though — so I’ll have to wait and see.

We threw down three more yards of compost/mulch in our front yard Sunday and yesterday. Probably going to wind up with another yard when I start breaking up the salad beds and plant. So — that’s five yards of compost, and I’ve only been gardening for three days. It’s bound to taper off soon, but boy oh boy.

I hope everyone is well. Happy Tuesday for all of us, who are full of compost.

    of white cloud. It’s 54 F. and we’re going for a high of 64 F.

Well, College Granddaughter loved her birthday story and asked if she could share it with her boyfriend, who made several appearances in it. (He cooked several dinners for her in the story because she worked so hard all day.) I said, “Kid, once the story passes into your hands, it’s yours to do what you like with.”

So now I have a day of research for my next story to look forward to, plus hours of wondering what to do about Twitter, and, of course, some housework. We simply haven’t got our act together yet with respect to the garden, although I may plant some lettuce and spinach in the porch box this afternoon. Lettuce and spinach like cold spring mornings.

Having Easter dinner for 12 here, so must iron tablecloth and napkins and polish the silver. Ladies, how I loathe housework! Would so much rather listen to music and write all day.

Everyone stay warm and comfortable and have a great day!

We did see The Lego movie yesterday and I was quite entertained by the bad lego guy’s Cheny like smirk….he deserves to be made fun of! I wasn’t pleased with the cost of movie going though…nearly $55.00 for 3 matinee tickets, popcorn and small ginermous soft drinks.

Today we meet Emma at her school so Ryan can have a tour, then come back here for a Monopoly game and tacos for dinner….small pleasures for which I am very grateful.

today is being weird.  to put it kindly.  I’m feeling better as long as I keep nibbling – a whole meal at one time isn’t good.  QC wasn’t as bad as it could have been.  Let’s hope I can say the same for tonight (Finance committee).  OK, back to dealing with students.  {{{HUGS}}} to Moosylvania.
