Wednesday Watering Hole: Check In & Hangout for the Herd

Good morning, Moosekind.

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Recs on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The common Moose, Alces alces, unlike other members of the deer family, is a solitary animal that doesn’t form herds. Not so its rarer but nearest relative, Alces purplius, the Motley Moose. Though sometimes solitary, the Motley Moose herds in ever shifting groups at the local watering hole to exchange news and just pass the time.

The morning check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

  1. 35 degrees in Madison, expected high of 39 degrees with rain/snow in the forecast. Tomorrow 47 degrees and Friday 54!!

Our cranes are back !! A couple of years ago they returned on March 11 so they are only about a week late.

Lots of early morning work for me today. I will try to check in later.

Have a great day, all y’alls!

    24 here – rain.

Have to go see my tax preparer today and can’t find some receipts – argh.  I hate this time of year, but hopefully will get a little bit of money back from the gov.

Kitties acted strange this mornin’, wouldn’t jump on the bed to get me up. Turns out Alice actually knocked over the kitchen trash last night instead of just banging on it. The tray the ground beef came in, even after being rinsed, holds great power over the Ancient But Still Determined Cat.

50s now, high in the low 70s – as opposed to yesterday’s 82.

Even in my life of really awful sleep, last night stands out. According to my fitbit, it took 2 hours to fall asleep and I totally believe that.

Will arrange diary today. Music: Beautiful Day – happy, soaring, good message – it’ll be a beautiful day because people are helping people; Invisible – new, was written/released to benefit the Red AIDS charity, so there’s a theme, has the line “there is no them, there’s only us, there is no them, there’s only you, there’s only me” so again a message I can use. There’s also Magnificent – also happy, and I can use “it’ll be Magnificent to get donations”. Any other U2 fans have any other suggestions?

Got my Dem club meeting this evening. First since the endorsement meeting fiasco. Goal for today – remain upright till squishing/wrapping appointment this afternoon; then till meeting; arrange diary — up tonight or in the morning?

My thoughts are with my daughter….the company she has worked for for 18 yrs has been bought by a larger corporation and her job is changing in ways that are very difficult to manage. She’s looking for another job but feels she has to tough this out until she finds one 🙁

and the wind has shifted back to WNW – seems to be better for my headache than the S wind we had yesterday but it’s a lot chillier!  My tuxedo/BC kitteh gets the worship but not all of the demands (no you can’t go outside unless I’m out there with you, yes you will go to the vet for your checkup and shots).  heh.  Spring is here – we have daffs and the flowering trees are just starting to bud.  There’s a green haze over everything that survived the winter.  There’re even enough wild onions and garlic chives greened up that I could survive on them – or at least deal with the health issues of not getting fresh veggies over winter – if I had to (which thank C.C., FSM, or Whoever that I do not).  Blessings upon us all.  {{{HUGS}}} bf
