Motley Monday Check in and Mooselaneous Musings

 photo Monday2_zps83ab71bd.jpg

Good morning Motley Meese! She’s baaaack! Hope your weekend was lovely.

PLEASE Don’t Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

28 degrees in the Shenandoah Valley, headed for a blistering 29. I really wish I could wear a coat.

I am recuperating nicely from my shoulder surgery. It will be REALLY nice to have stitches out Wednesday. I’ve started working from home. There are some system related inconveniences to that, but all are over-shadowed by the pleasure of working in my jammies!

    Happy Monday Meeses!

  2. -5 in Madison WI (feels like -18 for those who are working outside). Expected high of 7 in the aboves. Overnight low tonight will be -12. Yes, I thought we were done with the bitter cold also. If the extended forecast is to be trusted [insert maniacal laughter here], Wednesday will start a string of normal temperatures: upper 20s low 30s in the daytime, overnight lows in the teens. We. Shall. See.

Once again it is Monday … and once again I did not work on the things I was supposed to this weekend and now I have to try to cram 8 hours of computer fixes into 2 hours.

    See you later!!!

16 degrees here in Saugerties – I stayed home from school today cause I am exhausted from the NC trip – but still high from the experience.

Then I got back and had to deal with push-back and outright charges over on the orange side of the street, that I am a racist and hate white people simply because I don’t buy the George Washington mythology.

    Gack.

Wound up double tired and fried before I finally passed out near my keyboard.

Anyway – was super elated to come to the pond and see the live blog of the MM march on the fp.

Will say this – I was grinning and weeping at the same time as I participated in that inspiring event and am making plans to head back to NC this summer.

I had just reactivated my free lifetime subscription to TiVo by changing the phone number and I decided to have some hot chocolate with my Castle marathon. Reaching out to put down the cup, with my other hand I steadied myself on… a pillow that wasn’t stable on the headboard.

Tear apart bed, even to unzipping and removing the mattress cover. This was difficult, but as we all know, fury is fuel. Good news, the top sheet and the blanket were untouched.

I replaced the mattress with the scrubbed stain at the foot end. I guess I haven’t lost as much upper body strength as I thought.

Fast forward to yesterday, when R and I put the mattress cover back on. I can’t move the table assembly away from the foot of the bed because it’s tied up with string to keep from falling over, but I sat froglike on the corner of the box spring and we wiggled that sucker up and zipped it shut. Victory!

So I go to go to bed last night and it turns out the bedframe at the head of the bed has come apart. The pegs are no longer in the holes, the ends are on the floor, one  corner of the box spring is pretty much floating in air.

I slept on the couch. The cats proceeded to knock everything off the coffee table because I Was Doing Something Different and They Didn’t Like It. And this happened.  https://www.facebook.com/jill….

We’ve already reached our high for the day – 40-something. Cooling down, and — maybe precip overnight. Sigh. Highs in the low 40s next 2 days. End of the week – 70s.

Crappy sleep again last night. Some time this week, I’m supposed to get a machine to do a home sleep study, whatever that is. Meantime – super strong tea.

Plan for today – maintain consciousness. Cope with work — we opened late last Thursday then were closed Friday, so there’s all kinds of backlogs. Yay.

weather forecast you believe!  At the moment it’s 22, wind chill 12, 30% chance of some sort or another of precipitation.  Hurrah for iriti – healing nicely and working in her jammies! 🙂

Equally hurrah for DeniseVelez and her trip to NC!  Haven’t been over to GOS so have no idea what HOF reactions they’ve had to her diary as noted in her comment (above/below? – never sure which direction to use for comments already in existence that I am commenting on rather than replying to) – but GW isn’t my “Great White Father” and I’m white so why would anybody who isn’t want to claim him as such?  It’s the way he saw himself – he called everyone who worked for him, whether slave, indentured, or free, “my people” – but I rather doubt that any of them agreed with him.

Having now worked my way through over 200 emails and stopped to check in, I need to get back to work.  ðŸ™‚  Good health to everybody in Mooseland.  {{{HUGS}}} bf

I slept long and hard last night and finally feel relatively rested, yay! Time for the pool now. It’s good to have our lives feeling more normal again and to see Ron recovering his strength.
