Friday Morning Coffee Hour: Check In and Hang Out for the Herd

 photo Fridaymorningcoffeehour_zpsba607506.jpg

Good morning! It’s Friday! I’ve done this gig for a week now, and haven’t blown the place up yet! I’m even impressed.

Friday Coffee Hour and check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What can be easier than that, right?

It’s Friday!!! Another week survived! Currently 27&deg, with an expected high of 40. Possibility of snow over the weekend, but it doesn’t look like it will amount to much. Iriti started working from home yesterday, and seems to be doing well with her recovery. She sees the doc again on the 12th. Although this photo was not taken at our house, it is a familiar scene…

  2. -1 in Madison WI this morning (feels like -13) on its way up to 15. The weekend will bring us highs in the teens and lows in the negative single digits. Next week we might see more normal temperatures which would be mid-20s for highs and teens for lows.

Denise will be on her way to North Carolina this morning and we will miss her in the check-ins. But I’ll see what I can do to track the Moral March on Raleigh that she and other activists are taking part in. It is really a BHD.

I have not checked the news yet but I am going to guess that this is what I will see:

    – Republicans willfully ignoring facts and reality

    – The courtier press reporting Republican blathering as facts

    – 1.3 million Americans brutally kicked to the curb by Republicans in the name of the false god Deficit Reduction. When the history of this period is written, the only question is why on earth did people vote for these soulless creatures.

And now it is finally Friday.

There’s no precip, but it is below freezing, and there’s moisture maybe coming, so it could still get interesting. But the schools are closed, so my agency is closed, too. My doc’s office is nearby, so it should be ok. Right now, I’m eating breakfast & watching the news. Shockingly enough, after yesterday’s total lack of doing anything, I got a lousy night’s sleep last night. Must get some exercise today so I can sleep.

then back down – a roller coaster in fact as next Friday is predicted to be 50!  We’re working our way out of winter.  Hope everybody is healing, since we all seem to have something in need of it.  {{{HUGS}}} to the mooselanders.  bf

Ron has been back in the hospital due to three TIA episodes this week. Extensive….and repeated….testing shows a plaque blockage, but the size of it was hard to determine as eash test had a different result. So surgery was scheduled, then cancelled, then scheduled again, then cancelled again…..a medical roller coaster ride. He came home (again) last night.

The current plan is for close medical monitoring and management for the next 6 months because the risks of surgery outweigh the benefits for him right now. Needless to say we’re relieved and exhausted. No more drama/trauma please!
