Tuesday Morning Herd Check-in

Make sure you let your peeps

  know where to find you!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the Weather Critter Comment are obligatory welcome.

The morning check-in is an open thread posted to give you a place to visit with the meeses. Feel free to chat about your weather, share a bit of your life, grump (if you must), rave (if you can). The diarist du jour sometimes posts and runs, other times sticks around for a bit, often returns throughout the day and always cares that meeses are happy … or at least contented.

For those new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones. Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment threads grow, the page takes longer to refresh and the comment may not display right away.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, or Meh. Just Meh. (p.s. Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does).

– The Recommended list has a prominent place on the Front Page because it reflects the interests of the Moose. When people drive-by, we want them to see what we are talking about: news, politics, science, history, personal stories, culture. The list is based on number of recs and days on the list. Per Kysen: “The best way to control Rec List content is to ONLY rec diaries you WANT to see ON the list.

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

ready to start my day by voting for de Blasio for mayor. Hope it’s a good day for all Meese and for all Democratic candidates.

Still wearing sandals & capris, on November 5. Ah, Texas.

Got to leave work early because I never got around to voting during early voting. I know, I know. Then there’s my class at church. Interesting discussions about the intersection between faith & science.

breakfast, tea….. earworm is U2 Big Girls Are Best

But there is light in the sky, yay! I’m so tired at the end of the day the earlier evenings are easier to accept than the morning darkness. Now if I can please get all the clocks changed before time confusion becomes even more confusing.

Brrr! I’m glad we voted by mail! Our ballot this fall was all about how to tax marijuana, now that it’s legal. Quite a few counties have opted out of the sale of marijuana, but they’re insisting they should get a piece of the revenue.

    pleasant 55 F.  I am so pumped!

Went over to my son’s house shortly before 7 so I could feed and dress Miss Pink Cheeks and get her off to day care. Her father has a one-hour commute to Maryland so I wanted him to have time to vote (polling place is at the end of his street) before he set off through the traffic.

As Granddaughter and I walked up to the polling place we saw our candidate, Jennifer Boysko, and our attorney general candidate, Mark Herring!  The parking lot at the school was full, and there were people coming and going. Jennifer said as of 8:15 a.m. 426 people had cast ballots.

Miss Pink Cheeks “helped” me fill out the paper ballot when we went inside and we both received our “I voted” stickers. She wore hers to day care; mine’s on the jacket I’ll wear when handing out Democratic ballots at the polling place this afternoon.

A guy just came to the door to make sure we’d voted (Dearly Beloved went to vote at 9:30). He said he’d sensed a lot of passion about this election. I talked to Miss Pink Cheeks’ best friend’s mother this morning as we were leaving the day care place, and she’s planning to vote this afternoon.

After we have pizza and watch the evening news, I’m going down to headquarters to watch the returns.  I HOPE they’re good and that Jennifer wins!

Good luck to all Dems in all the races – the sooner we get sane people back in charge, the better for everyone (including the nutjobs out there who thinking letting the .1% have everything they want whenever they want it is “patriotic” – I hate it that to save ourselves we have to drag them kicking and screaming along with us – I’d love to put the whole lot of them on the Enterprise Holodeck so they could happily play out their fantasies without hurting anyone).  {{{HUGS}}} bf

I went and voted before work this morning, and a Tea Party booster tried giving me info before I went into the polling place. When I told him I wouldn’t vote for Cooch and his gang of idiots if they were the only ones running, he went to talk to somebody else rather quickly…

Working on the last stage of invitations (side job) and short on supplies. ::taps foot:: Waiting for response from client.

In other news … well, there’s not really any other news. Weather’s kinda cool, but the sun’s out. We’re planning to go visit some alpacas on Saturday, and I have a fiber guild meeting on Thursday.

    Such an exciting life. 😉

very busy – good to see so many people out voting – we have local elections on the menu – town council, town judge etc.

The major ballot initiative is about whether or not to amend state constitution to allow casino-style gambling.
