Tuesday Morning Herd Check-in

Make sure you let your peeps

  know where to find you!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the Weather Critter Comment are obligatory welcome.

The morning check-in is an open thread posted to give you a place to visit with the meeses. Feel free to chat about your weather, share a bit of your life, grump (if you must), rave (if you can). The diarist du jour sometimes posts and runs, other times sticks around for a bit, often returns throughout the day and always cares that meeses are happy … or at least contented.

For those new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones. Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment threads grow, the page takes longer to refresh and the comment may not display right away.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, or Meh. Just Meh. (p.s. Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does).

– The Recommended list has a prominent place on the Front Page because it reflects the interests of the Moose. When people drive-by, we want them to see what we are talking about: news, politics, science, history, personal stories, culture. The list is based on number of recs and days on the list. Per Kysen: “The best way to control Rec List content is to ONLY rec diaries you WANT to see ON the list.

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

    going up to 66.

Celebrating the founding of the Black Panther Party today in Oakland CA in 1966. Yes, they/we were revolutionary activists but looking back at the 10 point program – I think about point 10, which was “We Want Land, Bread, Housing, Education, Clothing, Justice And Peace.”

    Holds true for me today.

we’re supposed to get more rain later today. I’m eating breakfast, drinking tea, not thinking about the shutdown. And that’s about the extent of the thoughts in my head – had a very bad night’s sleep last night. sigh

oh – cold front coming, tomorrow it isn’t supposed to get out of the 60s, I put something long-sleeved out, but I’ll believe it when I feel it

I’ve been in a gigglin’ laughin’ jokin’ mood this morning and R not only doesn’t get me, she won’t even laugh with me. She just waits till I’m done and then says the next serious thing.

I get why nobody gets me, but it’s still kinda discouraging.

Anybody know a way to get a free look at the first seasons of Person of Interest? I feel like doing a marathon. The pilot is online, but trying to see the second episode I got a virus and had to take Major Steps to get rid of it.

expected to be in 60s tomorrow.  I was sicker than I thought yesterday – I got to the Courthouse OK, but a few minutes before the meeting I went to talk to the Chair and she said, “You’re going home.” And found somebody to take me home.  (I don’t think I was slurring my words, but I sometimes do when I’ve got a migraine.)  So instead of doing the Budget meeting, I sat in front of the fire (1st of the season) and had ginger tea and toast until bedtime.  I’m feeling much better – not good, but better – which is just as well.  I don’t care if I drag myself to the meeting and slur my speech until I’m unintelligible, it’s Animal Shelter tonight (2nd try) and they need my vote.  Anyway, all teh mooses have a good day by whatever definition they choose.  {{{HUGS}}} bf
