Friday Coffee Hour and check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

50 degrees and rainy here in the Shenandoah Valley, headed for a high of a whopping 61 (and still rainy). This weekend: rain.

    But it’s Friday. Woohoo!!

46f now, high today is mid-50’s.  no more sundresses until april.  not even confident of bare legs.

oh, utah’s national parks are opening.  so the sheriffs and county commissioners don’t have to commit an insurrection.

    National Parks Open In Utah

i’m going to give you-all the crazy quote.

San Juan County Commissioner Phil Lyman said he was eager to assert county “jurisdiction” over Natural Bridges National Monument and Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, but he is pleased that such action may not be necessary. San Juan was among several counties this week to declare a local emergency because of the harsh economic impact from the park closures.

“I’m thrilled to get these parks back open. That was our main objective. I’m proud of Governor Herbert stepping up,” Lyman said in a phone interview Thursday morning from Halls Crossing on Lake Powell, standing near the quiet marina and boat ramp. “We would have been opening those today. We felt compelled to acquiesce to the governor’s request to stand down. We are subdivisions of the state, as much as we feel like bucking federal authority.”

the 5 national parks: Zion, Bryce, Arches, Canyonlands, & Capitol Reef, plus Glen Canyon National Rec area (Lake Powell (what’s left of it)), Natural Bridges (near the commissioner Lyman) and Cedar Breaks (between Zion & Bryce)

  3. 51 degrees on its way to a high of 76 degrees.

I had written a nice comment (perhaps bordering on brilliant!) and hit the CTRL key and one of the letters on the left hand side of my keyboard at the same time. That caused the moose tab to close!!

So the time I had allotted to sharing my thoughts with my peeps has been spent and I clearly need moar coffee before I try again.

    See you after I fortify.

Beautiful morning in South Florida today. Haven’t posted in a while but then I realized how nuts it’s been with me lately and I wanted to share a couple pictures if you all don’t mind?

I was invited to a one night show for a fundraiser at BB King’s Blues Club in West Palm Beach last week. It was great exposure and they raised a lot of money for Broward Women in Distress, and my paintings looked awesome on display there…

Then last Thursday I painted Molly, a watercolor on Yupo paper for someone in Iowa…

On Wednesday I was invited to another show, this one for two months, at the Iberia Bank in Wilton Manors, FL. The reception will be the night of their very popular local Art Walk in November. I have 4 pieces on display there.

And finally last night I finished up Iris. Iris is in California, I do hope she approves?

day with some rain. Feel that even if the sun were shining I ‘d be walking under a dark cloud engineered by the GOP. Hope it’s a day day for all Meese and for sanity.

    not really Fall cool either – lows in the low 60s, highs in the upper 70s, relatively clear but humid enough to keep it warmer at night.  Last night not too bad – one very ambitious R (not satisfied with being the Assessor and taking credit for all the preparatory work in automation his Dem predecessor did, he’s already – although not officially – running for the County Executive Judgeship) fuzzing the truth (also known as lying) about how and why his budget was reduced in such a way as to get all the Rs, especially the TPs lapping it up.  Him I wouldn’t mind if he suddenly decided he “needed to spend more time with his family”.  The next two Rs both very good scouts, solid public servants the kind we seldom see any longer.  The last one an irritant, but at least honest (needs to be, he’s the Tax Collector).  None tonight, but 3 meetings again next week.  Hope everybody has a good day and a stellar weekend.  I’ll be spending mine hunkered down at home – it’s Homecoming and the traffic will be horrendous this evening and once they all wake up tomorrow. 🙂  {{{HUGS}}}

I’m later than usual today as I slept poorly and spent to long doing so.

I blame the R’s…..for everything, heh!

Time for the pool. May the psychological benefits of a good work out kick in real quick.

Got up at 9 am, raining ever since, been worken.

Thankful I have food in the house even if I have to eat teh dreaded peanut butter.

Stirring the oil in the other day was an awful experience but at least I don’t have to eat the more awful ingredients in Skippy and Jif.

But better food will be available soon. In the oven is a yellow cake in my new Bundt©-like pan.

    And I also have stew.
