Thursday Morning Herd Check-in for the Meeses

Make sure you let your peeps

  know where to find you!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary

Fierces on the Weather Critter Comment are obligatory welcome.

The morning check-in is an open thread posted to give you a place to visit with the meeses. Feel free to chat about your weather, share a bit of your life, grump (if you must), rave (if you can). The diarist du jour sometimes posts and runs, other times sticks around for a bit, often returns throughout the day and always cares that meeses are happy … or at least contented.

For those new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones. Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment threads grow, the page takes longer to refresh and the comment may not display right away.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, or Meh. Just Meh. (p.s. Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does).

– The Recommended list has a prominent place on the Front Page because it reflects the interests of the Moose. When people drive-by, we want them to see what we are talking about: news, politics, science, history, personal stories, culture. The list is based on number of recs and days on the list. Per Kysen: “The best way to control Rec List content is to ONLY rec diaries you WANT to see ON the list.

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

The president is speaking in Rockville about a 15-minute drive from here at 10:40 this morning. I’m going to go watch him! Last time I didn’t manage to get a photograph, this time I will.

Muggy morning – humid & 76 degrees. Scholz’s is going to be really hot this afternoon, but I’m excited to be going – that’s the Austin party to watch Wendy Davis’ announcement. So that’ll be fun. And a lot of my friends will be there.

Gym bag is in the trunk, so depending on when the party is over & how I feel after standing for that long, I’ll at least be ready to get in a workout.

But for now, I’m eating breakfast (oats soaked in hempmilk, cinnamon & maca powder, blueberries, cherries & mango) and drinking tea.

Probably shouldn’t complain, but everything is so dead and dry-looking.  I wish real autumn would come, I’ve had quite enough of the heat.

Went out to pick raspberries for Miss Pink Cheeks’ breakfast–came back with a handful of berries and a zinnia.  I put it in a little jug on her breakfast tray.

Day 3 of the Shutdown and daughter-in-law isn’t quite sure what to do with herself.  Yesterday she took our little princess to Lake Fairfax Park before taking her to day care. If we knew how long the Shutdown were going to last, she’d take Miss Preschooler and drive down to North Carolina to visit a friend–but we don’t know.

So we’re just meandering along. I’ve a date for morning coffee with my niece and great-nephew in Reston; working at HQ this afternoon as a volunteer.  Not sure what the project is this week, except that it has something to do with the town parade.

    Everyone have a good day!

Foggy and muggy here in the Chicago western suburbs.  We are just hanging out this morning.  My daughter is working on a puzzle and my son is begging for the iPad.  He will probably get it in a few minutes.  He is a whiz with it.  Really cool to,see.

I screamed at the tv twice yesterday so I think I may listen to some sports talk radio today for a palate cleanser.

This afternoon we have piano lessons and a homecoming parade!

    Have a great day everyone!

I’m not a party crasher but that’s what I was trying to do this morning. Private event. The traffic person was very nice about it. I know it doesn’t matter but I’m embarrassed at myself anyway.

We’re taking care of grand puppy Maggie for the rest of the week. Fortunately she’s a sweet little dog (white Poodle/Pomeranian) because the train whistle blew last night just as she was settling into her bed, she levitated on to mine, and has claimed her spot! So many new sounds.

So do you hear this?  We are led by liars and the media are their enablers, they have no soul or philosophy the asshole asked if “they wont negotiate” was poll tested not if it were true, and the media who watched them do it is going to help.

not nearly as long as last time & it’s good til 2017.  Pretty close of CAVU highs in the 80s and lows in the 60s today and tomorrow.  We’re ‘sposed to get a front through, maybe (please, please, please) some rain but definitely temps dropping to highs 60s lows low 40s/upper 30s (I gotta get some firewood!).  {{{HUGS}}} bf
