Since 2008 – Progress Through Politics

The Daily F Bomb, Friday 2/15/13

Good morning, all. Happy Friday, and happy 3 day weekend to those who get Monday off.

Interrogatories

At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up? How many hours a day do you average on your computer? If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink? Star Trek or Star Wars? Coke or Pepsi? How is your memory doing these days? What did I just ask? What is your worst habit?

    So cool.

    Answers to your questions

How long have I been on computer:  about 20 minutes

How much computer a day:  1-2 hours

Last meal:  chicken fried steak with French fries and champagne to drink

Star Wars all day long but I know some Trekkies well.  My old boss named her daughter Troi

Coke but I don’t drink that stuff anymore.

My memory sucks for little stuff – like I walk into a room and wonder why I am there

Bad habit:  I am a terrible nail biter.  I have done it for thirty years, I have quit once or twice before but now even my daughter wants me to quit so I guess I have to.  What will I do while I read?

closed on Monday. Here are a few answers:

At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up? about 15 minutes

How many hours a day do you average on your computer? Far too many.

If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink? I would like a lu’au for my last meal accompanied by a few mai tais.

Star Trek or Star Wars? Star Trek.

Coke or Pepsi? Diet Pepsi, but I am really trying to cut back on all sodas.

How is your memory doing these days? Not too well. What did I just ask? LOL

What is your worst habit? So many bad habits, so little time.

At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up?

About 10 minutes; just got coffee.

How many hours a day do you average on your computer?

Most of them?  Um.  Let’s see, 8 hours for work; then probably another 4 at home, during the week (unless we go out to dinner or something).  On the weekend, it really depends if we have plans or not – if not, then most of the day will be spent in front of the computer, with occasional breaks for doing laundry & stuff.  Which I guess is a long-winded way of saying, about 12 hours a day.

If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink?

Frozen Margaritas.  And the Hanger Steak dish made by this little restaurant in Hartford, CT; it had shallots and carmelized soy, and was just yum.

    Star Trek or Star Wars?

Star Wars, hands down, but only the original trilogy, not the prequels.

    Coke or Pepsi?

Mountain Dew, preferably the Throwback one (made with actual sugar).  The brown stuff is just nasty, regardless of the name on it.

How is your memory doing these days?

Short Term Memory = Awful.  Long term is OK.

    What did I just ask?

Who are you? Where am I?

    What is your worst habit?

Well, 11 years ago, I would have said smoking.  Now it’s probably procrastination

I just sat down about two minutes ago.

Home computer?  Four or five hours, I guess.  At work, I’m on the computer all day!  Whee!

Ice cream and cake and a soda.  If dessert went better with beer, I’d go with some Dogfish Head Indian Brown Ale.

Back then it was Star Wars.  Did I ever mention that the first three times I saw Star Trek, it happened to be a rerun of the same episode?  “I am the God Apollo!”

When I still drank sodas with sugar, it was Coke.  Now it’s Diet Pepsi.  Diet Coke sucks bigtime.

    Memory works intermittently.

Ignoring that last question, whatever it was.

Worst habit?  It’s probably something I don’t notice.  You’ll have to ask Lulu.  First thing that comes to mind is nailbiting.  I don’t do it as often as I did before tranquilizers, but I still do it some.  It’s satisfyin’.

  5. Gee

1918 – Allan Arbus, American actor

Wow, so he’s still with us?  Dr. Sidney Freedman and star of Greaser’s Palace.

    1926 – Dad (d. 1997)

A happy birthday to Mr. T!

1948 – Art Spiegelman, American cartoonist

I reread the Maus books every couple of years.  They’re precious things.

1981 – Mike Bloomfield, American musician (Electric Flag) (b. 1943)

    And the Butterfield Blues band!

  6. Its the Supreme Court Stupid

At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up? Over 1 1/2 hours

How many hours a day do you average on your computer? 10

If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink?
Something really expensive with tons of fat and cholesterol.  And, the best wine money could by.  Finishing off with a top Armagnac.

    Star Trek or Star Wars?
    Depends. Kirk or Jean-Luc?

    Coke or Pepsi? Diet Coke

How is your memory doing these days? Huh.

What did I just ask? You asked a question?

What is your worst habit? Snarky answes.

  7. Lorinda Pike

Nice weather we’re having. Should be 62o this afternoon with a chance of widely scattered Near Earth Objects…

At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up? About an hour. Sad, actually.

How many hours a day do you average on your computer? Working, about three. Playing and otherwise, also about three, but spaced out in chunks and not a single session.

If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink? Sushi, shepard’s pie, Mexican Coca-Cola with real sugar, and a gigantic vanilla milkshake.

Star Trek or Star Wars? Both, but only Star Wars Episodes IV, V and VI. The others pretty much suck.

Coke or Pepsi? Pepsi, unless it’s the aforementioned Mexican Coke.

How is your memory doing these days? What did I just ask? I forget.

What is your worst habit? Procrastination. Always, procrastination…

  8. slksfca

…that I’d have to scroll back-and-forth to top of page to remember the questions. And I’m not yet awake enough to manage that. ;-p

A happy Friday to my pet Moosies!

  9. slksfca

…I would definitely go for filet mignon with green peppercorn sauce, accompanied by French green beans (haricots verts) in almond butter sauce and baked potato with chives and sour cream. Dessert would be a double whammy: creme brulee and chocolat pot-de-creme.

  10. At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up?

    About 90 minutes

How many hours a day do you average on your computer?

    Geeze! A LOT. maybe 10?

If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink?

    A lot, slowly.

    Star Trek or Star Wars?

I guess Star Wars; at least it doesn’t pretend to be serious.

    Coke or Pepsi?

    I don’t like cola

How is your memory doing these days?

For some things, very good (e.g. jokes, riddles, quotations) for other things, very bad (events, faces)

    What did I just ask?

    What is your worst habit.

    What is your worst habit?

    I chew on my fingers

  11. In 2011, protesters swarmed Wisconsin’s capitol after Gov. Scott Walker proposed cutbacks in benefits and bargaining rights for public employees.

Happy “celebrating your dad’s birthday day” to you, Floja Roja! Was he really a world famous cub reporter?

  12. At this moment, how long have you been in front of your computer without getting up?

    – 2

How many hours a day do you average on your computer?

    – 12?

If you knew your next meal would be your last, what would you choose to eat and drink?

    – a caesar salad from Aristotle’s in Toronto; Sushi from Genki in Cary, NC; petite filet from Ruth’s Chris in Georgetown, DC; an Irish Coffee from le Auberge de Venise in Paris; another from the Hilton in Port of Spain, Trinidad; and end it all with several savoring snifters of Bushmill’s Single-Cask Millennium Blend Irish Whiskey.

    Star Trek or Star Wars?

    – Star Trek. Worse than that, the new movies (which are the most epic New Tradition to an old classic, and with the young cast will be going for fifty years).

    Coke or Pepsi?

    – None. But Dr. Pepper if you have to.

How is your memory doing these days?

    – Entirely too clear.

    What did I just ask?

    – How tall I was.

    What is your worst habit?

    – blogging.
