Since 2008 – Progress Through Politics

Greetings, Moosen. I’m rb137.

Hello all. I wanted to introduce myself, and let you know that I want to play. I write as rb137 at Daily Kos, and want a place where the diaries move a little more slowly and have a longer lifetime.

I am making some big personal changes, and as such I don’t have a lot of time for blogging lately. I miss it. I’ve been totally unable to devote the time it takes to participate as a regular community member. At DK, a dairy posts, and the threads are dead in a few hours. I might not get to that post until the next day. I find myself going to threads less and less often, and if it isn’t on the front page, I almost don’t have time to see it anymore.

My schedule means that I often don’t have a suitable block of time to devote to tending comments after I post a diary at DK. I’d love to post on a number of issues, but I don’t have two or three hours to carve out of any day while the comments appear and need attention.

Anyway, I recognize some friendly faces here, and I thought it would be fun to check in once in a while. I’d also like to post some of my diaries here. I’m hoping to write some chewy stuff.

I usually write about human rights, the environment, science, food — and recently, I like to write about my two new puppies. My cat is already an infamous blogger.

Thanks, ya’ll.

Your Africa diaries are perfect for the Moose, as are all the other topics you mentioned. I’ve missed you, my friend.

PS to those meeting rb137 for the first time: she is a GEEK!

Welcome. I love the slower pace here, especially during the academic term when I don’t have a lot of time to blog. I am glad to see so many old friends here.

The pace here is very refreshing and honestly, for me, an adjustment which needed to happen and is doing me good.

Stopping and smelling the mooses can be better than it sounds.

    Good to see you.

  4. Your cat is quite famous. If I were on my computer I would post a picture. Would you please write about physics?

Maybe we can do another hunger series. blue jersey mom is here too and the plight of the hungry is unfortunately something that has not been fixed.

I myself have not been active here  for a while, due to the press of other matters.  I see that there has been an influx of peeps from T3H GOS.  I take it that this is a reaction to all of the rancor over there associated with gun-control “debates.”  I did not read very much of all that, but some of what I did see was getting pretty nasty.

I haven’t seen any flaming over here since I stumbled in, and that suits me just fine.

I am very glad to see that the herd has increased.  I look forward to reading your contributions.

very pleasant pasture in which to graze, The pace is slower as you can see by how late my welcome is! Actually am not sure if a moose grazes or browses and, if so, it it’s in a tundra or pasture or the edge of a wood. Oh dear.
