The Moose would like to give a huge “Thank You!” to all the overwhelmingly generous donations received during our Moose-a-thon. Hugs and Moose kisses to everyone who helped us keep the lights on for awhile (a long while if we are careful) and, maybe, hire some professional mental tech help (for when we aren’t careful).
One of the necessary evils of blogging is sometimes having to ask for a bit of financial aid. (I was going to use “bleg” but wiki tells me John Derbyshire lays claim to coining the term. Blech! The term also shows up in Urban Dictionary, but you’ll have to look that up for yourself).
Anyhoo, as Denise mentioned, our overhead is low, but we still need to pay the rent and such. And thanks to your overwhelming generosity, the Moose raised:

Those dollars go solely towards Moose upkeep (domain name, Soapblox , and emergency tech support). Every penny will be used to keep the Moose conversation flowing. Enough was raised today that we can now also be Ad-Free, something that all Moose can cheer about!

That’s an overwhelming amount to longtime Moose who came here at various times in 2008 looking for a drama-free zone and found a home away from home. Where I, for one, can say those things that I cannot say in real life. Where, yes, we can disagree without being disagreeable, and we are held accountable for our words.
We can assure you that the funds will be kept in a VERY safe place.
On behalf of all the Moose, the elders and the … uh … calves … thank you so much for helping us stay around for a while longer.
