How about an Introduction Topic?

I just thought I would throw this out there so we could introduce ourselves or re-introduce ourselves in this new joint.

I’m donnamarie.  Always have been, wherever I’ve posted.

I’m in the Tampa Bay area of Florida and I’m a former Chicagoan.  Chicago has NOTHING on corruption in politics as compared to Florida.  It’s very disheartening.

I was semi-political all my adult years but never got really involved or aware until the illegal wiretapping began to leak out about 7 years ago or so.  I was outraged.

Nurse Kelley Sez: Thanks for the welcome!

We recent runaways from Daily Kos barged in here yesterday when no one was home, admired the color scheme, made some coffee, and raided the ‘fridge. (There’s mold on your cheese, Brit.) Y’all came back today and found us sleeping on your desks, but instead of throwing us out or calling the cops, you shook our hands and allowed us to stay. Even without showers.

Thanks! We’re kinda beat up and have wounds to lick, so your hospitality was particularly special.

Now where’s this Lounge I read about in the FAQ?

Did U.S. just implement more severe austerity measures than Great Britain? A quick response

Sorry this diary is so brief. But sometimes the truth is simple.

A rec listed diary on DKos asks Did U.S. just implement more severe austerity measures than Great Britain, Spain?. There’s a simple answer to this…

No.

If you want a taste of what real neoliberal austerity feels like, come to Britain. Today the Guardian reported

A shock fall in activity in Britain’s services sector at the end of last year has put the economy on the road to a triple-dip recession, as economists predict the UK will be stripped of its triple-A credit rating.

The services sector – which accounts for three-quarters of Britain’s economic output – shrank for the first time in two years in December, suggesting the UK economy contracted in the fourth quarter. If output drops again over the next three months, the UK will fall into its third recession in five years – an unprecedented triple dip.

Finally Friday

The week started with Our Nation perilously close to the Fiscal Cliff.

“Jump, Jump!”, said some.

“Fix, Fix!”, said others. Frantic folks (and furry friends!) looked on fearfully.

Happy F*@$^%g New Year Tubes

As it has been way to cold outside over the last couple of weeks, and I probably wouldn’t go out even if the weather was perfect, I  (unfortunately) was mesmerized by the weird assed holiday reruns of Morning Jughead, Politics Nation, Hard Ball and all of the other normally soothing shows I watch on MSNBC;~J That, interspersed with ‘updates’ on the fiscal clifterfuck in Washington, has driven me back to thinking I can write something and post a few tubes.

Beware, I am cranky and feel a lot like this guy…

I am not sure why I like him so much, other than he reminds of little Hollede many, many years ago.

Hello? Is this microphone on????

I am looking for a web site that is interested in electing more and better Democrats.

Your banner says “progress through politics” (electoral politics, I assume) and has a link to whitehouse.gov.

That looks very promising. 🙂
