Since 2008 – Progress Through Politics

question for this wonderful community

So, I am one of the recent moose to have migrated in the past few weeks from that other site.  (I peeked in today and man am I glad I am gone).  I have found this place to be wonderful change full of encouraging and inspirational people.  Great writing is always inspirational.  Well, I am no great writer but I would like to get more involved here.

There was a series at the other site with a acronym for a name that contained a bad word but it was all about people being able to post their problems.  I always enjoyed that diary.  The problems were so wide ranging – from little petty things to some serious life changing stuff.

I would like to start a series like that here. Have to come up with a good name that doesn’t involve profanity (though i am damn good at using profanity).

What do you think?

  1. Right off hand the names I thought up were either “The Flyswatter” or “The Bug Bomb” for a place to get off your chest all the things that are “bugging” you. Of course I am putting in an immediate disclaimer saying I am not responsible for anything I say right now because I have a bad cold and am running a fever and not thinking straight. Not that I expect anyone to buy that argument but thought I’d try any ways. 😉

I was thinking the same thing on Saturday night, except I would like to see it expanded to include really good things that happen to people during the week. Whether you lost a job or got a dream job, it could be a place to gather and share.

    I’ll cogitate on names.

I too like the idea of good and bad stuff.  That makes the name even more difficult and potentially interesting.  My first problem!  As for when.  Weekly obviously and with the little ones I can’t guarantee a particular time of day, I will just pick a day.  Maybe Tuesdays… I like Tuesdays.  Weekends are not good for me.

for Airing of Grievances. (At Boeing it stands for Aircraft On Ground).

After all, every day is Festivus Day.

  5. Which reminds me of a joke.

A little guy, maybe 5’6″, 140 pounds, is sitting at a bar.

A HUGE guy sits down next to him, grabs his drink and downs it. He says “What are YOU gonna do about it?”

    The little guy starts crying.

Big guy “Aw man! Not crying! What’s your PROBLEM???!!!”

Little guy “It’s the worst day of my life. I overslept and missed a meeting. The boss fired me and security escorted me out. Then I find my car’s been stolen so I get a cab. I get home and I find my wife in bed with my best friend. So…. I bought some poison, came to this bar, ordered a drink for the poison and was about to kill my self.

But enough about me. How’s your day going?”

“i am not a bitch, i’m the QUEEN BITCH, and it’s YOUR MAJESTY BITCH to you”  wear it all the time, get lots of women wanting to know where i got it.

I am thinking something like THE FIX or THE WEEKLY FIX.

keep the suggestions coming then I can compile my favorites and we can vote.

…by adding the odd comment or two (“odd” being the operative adjective). Don’t think I’ve ever been part of the series “over there,” but it feels different here, so… 🙂

Title idea: Stuff recalls the Sh*t..Stuff however can’t be St**f, as it might be Stiff or staff…*…this week can be added. Or “Stuff to share?”

Meta for those who like the meta-stuff:

I never liked the notion that implied a problem made you a problem yourself, a loser or some how f**ked up….even if it was used ironically. I know people unfamiliar with the lingo of the other place who were really shocked by the titles to which you may be referring…..if I understand the diarist’s translation of over there into Meeish

    The Weekly Fix

    The Rumination

    Herd Therapy

The Good, The Bad and The Funny

Let me know what you think

I like rumination or herd therapy
