HylasBrook – RIP

This will be very short.  I know that many people who participate in the pootie diaries at the GOS also are boycotting.

HylasBrook has pass away very suddenly last Friday according to yesterday’s pootie diary and I thought some of the people here would want to know.  Apparently there will be a funeral service and according to KelleyRN, there will be flowers sent.

She was diagnosed with endometrial cancer around August 16th and was scheduled for surgery, but beyond that there are very few details.  I did not know her well, and only through the pootie diaries, but I thought there might be some here that are boycotting that might want to know.

I pray that all of her beloved pets had met her at the Rainbow Bridge and say a prayer for comfort to all those who loved her.

Namaste

I know Tricia is helping coordinate getting Hylas’ cats taken care of – getting them new homes.

She was a cool lady. She will be missed.

I did not know her at all, but it is obvious that she was very well liked and will be deeply mourned.

I understand that she didn’t have any family and I hope that her many cats and other pets have someone to look after them.

Thank you for posting this here.

Hylasbrook is one of the key names I associate with the pootie diaries going back several years. I am sorry to hear of her passing but am glad she is not suffering. Hugs to all her friends and associates!

  4. My best to her family and all of you. She obvious lived a life worth value and you have obviously been enriched by knowing her.

Any of us can only hope our own passing is as well remarked. No other measure of the value of our lives carries as much weight.

but I read many of her comments. She was a nice person, and this is an awful loss. Thank you for posting this… I don’t know when/if I would have heard.

You touched many of our lives – and the lives of so many others, both 2-legged and 4-legged – in so many beautiful ways.

    Thank you.

    Eternal peace.

just shined.Wise and funny and so large a spirit.Rest high on that mountain, lovely Hylas Brook.

    Frost’s poem, Hyla Brook…..

By June our brook’s run out of song and speed.

Sought for much after that, it will be found

Either to have gone groping underground

(And taken with it all the Hyla breed

That shouted in the mist a month ago,

Like ghost of sleigh bells in a ghost of snow)-

Or flourished and come up in jewelweed,

Weak foliage that is blown upon and bent,

Even against the way its waters went.

Its bed is left a faded paper sheet

Of dead leaves stuck together by the heat-

A brook to none but who remember long.

This as it will be seen is other far

Than with brooks taken otherwhere in song.

We love the things we love for what they are.

    This is such sad news.

I can barely type a message because I am crying so much.

I’m going back into DKOS to try to express how very sad this is and this is just such sad news.
