Bachmann goes boom! (UPDATED)

Unhinged Whack Job Authentique Michele Bachmann is having real problems after she called Barack Obama un-American and demanded investigations into the patriotism of Democrats in Congress.  So what’s the title of the Christian Scientist Monitor story on her campaign problems?  “Bachmann’s campaign implodes – anti-Americans run wild.”  And how does The Fix describe the race? “Bachmann Goes Boom!”

The Washington Post this morning reports that Elwyn Tinklenberg has raised more than a million dollars since the Whack Job Authentique appeared on “Hardball” last week.

Here’s his first ad.  See what your money is doing to make our Congress ever more blue:

Put Michele Bachmann out of our collective misery.  As a sign of your desire to have the Whack Job Authentique go to her well-deserved retirement:

1.  Sign the petition asking Congress to censure Michele Bachmann.

2.  Donate to Whack Job’s Democratic opponent, Elwyn Tinklenberg, to defeat her and replace her as the congressman from Minnesota’s sixth District come the November Election.

Update:  The Scorecard at Politico is reporting that the National Republican Congressional Committee does not plan to spend any money on advertisements for the Whack Job Authentique Michele Bachmann.  This comes after an earlier promise to pour money into the sixth district on her behalf.  It seems that Whack Job is on her own.

And on a brighter note I’m glad we’re using this and turning it into something positive to further our cause.  Elwyn Tinklenberg is a real sweetheart and I’m not sure he could have given her the bashing that she deserves without an organized uprising from the netroots against Bachmann.

I haven’t looked very deeply into Tinklenbergs policy positions but having a boyfriend whose passion is urban planning and transit, I’ve come to admire his progressive work as Transportation Commissioner for Minnesota. His fight for the Hiawatha line has led to a consideration of other alternative transit options and other light rail systems.  Even Pawlenty supported it, after fighting hard against it and then realizing it would make him look bad when it became so successful and popular.
