Friday Coffee Hour and check-in is an open thread and general social hour.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

    Sunny & mid-70’s this afternoon.

I am on vacation; the last two days I’ve hiked 36.3 miles. Today I plan to relax and nurse a wounded toe. Then hikes te next three days. What have you got planned for the long weekend?

  2. 51 degrees in Madison this morning with an expected high of 72 and sunny. Perfect weather.

This is why the Republicans hate President Obama. They know they will never be as cool as this:

(p.s. I would be just like the woman at 2:12 into the clip)

    See all y’all later!!

  3. This goat has a disease that made her back legs not work. But her rescuers gave her a way to move around and she rewarded them with bleats and kisses.

Warning: After my daughter saw this, she wanted goats!!

I couldn’t leave my eye doctor appointment yesterday for an hour because of a  hail storm. Albany (a bit north of me) was under tornado watch)

    The rain was torrential.

We still have thunderstorms in the forecast.

Sleepy again, but better than yesterday. 3-day weekend & I still have a lot of food that I cooked past week, so I don’t really have to shop & cook. Maybe I’ll get some exercise. We have small rain chances – no more than 30%, but maybe if I get out on my bike, I can attract some rain.

Head is full of Snow Patron songs. Sometimes more than 1 at a time (In the End, Chocolate, Called Out in the Dark). Fine, maybe the noise till keep me awake today.

which will cut into my electricity generation.  Apparently there’s a “bad board” in the interverter.  They’ve ordered a new one and hopefully before the end of next week I’ll have good data for tracking generation and use.  Something like 60% chance of rain tomorrow morning – figures, that’s Farmers’ Market day – which we need.  If we don’t get it, I’ll be watering Sunday.  My baby hazelnut bushes we planted last Xmas Eve have leaves and are all of 6″ tall at the moment should be a couple of feet tall by the end of summer – if I remember their “establishment water”.

    Memorial Day on Monday – if I had a flag, I’d hang it out but since I don’t I’ll light a candle in memory of those who’ve gone before us and in thanks for their efforts in making the country and the world a safer, saner place.  (Note that I include a heckuva lot more people than just our military dead in my Memorial Day.)  I won’t be online so everybody in Moosylvania have a wonderful day, weekend, and holiday.  {{{HUGS}}

Bellingham has a Ski To Sea festival on Memorial Dy weekend and this year our grand daughter will be in the parade with her dance class. Bad Grammie isn’t looking forward to negotiating the traffic and standing in the rain to wave a her as she goes by!

Looks like I’ll be planting the pots on the porches today… where I can stay relatively dry.

haven’t been around much in a spell, ‘cept to lurk.  i’m moved to write a little something today due to a tragedy.  an old friend of mine–a beautiful, radiant, mother of three–dropped her kids off at school the day before yesterday, then went home, picked up a gun, drove the beach, and shot herself in the face.

she was wealthy, healthy, and by all accounts happy.  no shit, i say with confidence that i always thought she was the happiest person i ever knew.

i guess you never really know whats going on in ppl’s heads.  love your friends and family with all that you have at every opportunity.  it’s just so sad.
