Motley Monday Check in and Mooselaneous Musings

 photo Monday4_zps8171d750.jpg

Good morning Motley Meese! Hope your weekend was lovely.

PLEASE Don’t Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The check-in is an open thread and general social hour.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

  1. In a moment of synchronicity it is 43 degrees both in Madison and where I am Near Washington DC. The expected high here is 64 degrees and sunny. Tomorrow … 70s!

We had some of iriti’s snow. It started as ice pellets. In case you wondered, there are no cherry blossoms.

    Have a great day, moosers!

Eating breakfast – it’s interesting (kale, mushrooms, broccoli, carrots, garbanzo beans, cashews, the sauce is orange juice, avocado on top), drinking tea. Ugh, Monday.

Today may be the last visit to the lymphaderma people. Which is fine, I hate using up all my sick leave. I’ll wear compression socks, and exercise more. Though not next weekend — I have a workshop with Marcus Borg, so not only no exercise on Saturday, I’m skipping the Capitol 10K that I registered for, because he’s speaking at the 11am service on Sunday. So I need to work in some workouts during the week.

But today: work till 3, go to the lymphaderma place, probably go home to pack up the squishing machine & take it back up there. Exercise tomorrow.

I’ve over 500 emails to deal with so I thought I’d better check in before I get started or I’ll never check in 🙂  I promise I’ll come back and read about Denise’s honor from NAACP as soon as I can.

Well – the dream won’t come true for another 2 weeks, but I signed a contract Friday for a 3K solar PV system to be put on my roof.  The cost is $9250 – lock, stock, and barrel – and 2 out of 3 is American (local company doing the work, American company for the PVs and other equipment/materials, but the PVs themselves are made in Korea).  This is essentially my gross income from the Quorum Court (at the new, improved, increased rate that we voted ourselves starting this year) – so my 1st year on the QC helped pay off my mortgage and my last year on the QC is paying for my 45-year old dream of going solar! 🙂  Gotta go – {{{HUGS}}} to all in Moosylvania.  bf

Back to normal, yay! Went over to son’s house this morning to look after my beautiful granddaughter, whom I hadn’t seen for more than a week (except on Facetime). I gave her a little book called “Mama, What’s In There?” You open the little “window” in Mama’s tummy and see a baby monkey, baby elephant, or dolphin, as the case may be, and finally a baby human. She knows Mommy is expecting Baby Brother in a couple of months.

Feeling much better, eager to get back to writing. There’s a glitch with Smashwords with respect to the “update” on my novel, and that’s causing me some worry. Oh, well.

Listening to “The Best of Enya” to get me into my writing mood.

JanF, are you attending a conference here in DC? Wish it were nicer weather for you but, as your taxi driver intimated, after Reagan messed up the weather here there’s no telling when the cherry trees will bloom. 😉

    Everyone have a good day!

Damp and chilly…..spring is welcome regardless!

I hope to visit a garden shop today but I absolutely must pay bills, organize the tax info, and go to the pool.
