    Combined is fine

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the AARP?

    Yes.

Have you ever had a hairstylist really mess up your hair? How so?

Indeed. Too short or just a mess.

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the AARP? No, never. I will be 62 this year, and I will never join the AARP. They are more interested in selling insurance supplements than in the interests of older Americans. In addition, the needs to a healthy 60-something are very different from the needs of a nonagenarian. No one organization can effectively represent all older Americans.

If you are too young, are you in the habit of traipsing on the lawns of old people? Not too young, but I do like to traipse on McCain’s lawn.

Have you ever had a hairstylist really mess up your hair? How so? No, I have not paid for a haircut since some time in the Johnson administration.

I like raisins! Let the wrath of ITSCS be upon me! Oatmeal Raisin Cookies are scrumptious. I hate when I grab an oatmeal raisin cookie and the raisins turn out to be chocolate chips. Totally harshes my mellow.

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the AARP?

    No.

I’m old enough, I’m just not what my dad used to call a “Joiner.” Except for the ACLU. There are always exceptions 🙂

In the summer of 1982, heavily pregnant and in the middle of a heat wave, I asked her to cut my hair shorter. She gave me a “Princess Di” haircut. I hated it so much I still remember it!

  4. For National Oatmeal Cookie Day and National Raisin Day, would you prefer the two combined, or is raisins in anything an abomination? Definitely with raisins. In fact in my recipe I use two types of raisins. My raisin cookie recipe: http://artbymichelewilson.com/

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the AARP? I’m a member. I’ll take all the discounts I can get.

If you are too young, are you in the habit of traipsing on the lawns of old people? Oh no. My parents taught me to respect my elders. Once I grow up I may traipse along their lawns however. 😉

Have you ever had a hairstylist really mess up your hair? How so? Fortunately no.

For National Oatmeal Cookie Day and National Raisin Day, would you prefer the two combined, or is raisins in anything an abomination? I like raisins, but I only the the oatmeal raisin cookies I bake. Not too sweet and whole wheat.

Have you ever had a hairstylist really mess up your hair? How so? Some years ago, a neighbor of mine had a really great haircut. I asked her where she went, and she recommended this Japanese hairstylist. I went to him, and my hair looked awful. Then I realized that my neighbor had stick straight hair and mine is curly. Ever since then, I have endeavored to go to hairstylists who also have curly hair.

Oatmeal and raisins is fine.  Not that an oatmeal cookie is something that I’ve ever craved.  “Damn, I sure wish I had an oatmeal cookie!”  Nope, doesn’t sound like something I’d say.

    No.

    Yep.

My hair is pretty troublesome.  Kudos to any stylist or barber who ever took on that job.

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the AARP?  On the advice of counsel, I decline to answer in accordance with my rights under the 50th Amendment.

If you are too young, are you in the habit of traipsing on the lawns of old people?  I’m not quite sure what traipsing is.

Have you ever had a hairstylist really mess up your hair? How so?  Sounds like a fine rationalization for my male pattern baldness, so I’ll go with that.

    Oatmeal Cookies: Raisins, definitely.

AARP: For a while, not long.

    Lawns:
I’m kinda oldish. I get grumpy. Extremely grumpy. You wouldn’t want to see me then.

Haircut: Wore badly cut hair for years, recently, from Hair Cuttery. Just stopped noticing, thought it was the hair’s fault. Changed, found a better cutter. Wish I’d looked better for my niece’s wedding last year.

Didn’t Emma Thompson and Sean Penn also “come out” in that episode?  I just remember that it confused the heck out of me.

I can imagine the parents being displeased with the portrait, and de Laszlo shrugging and saying, “I’m an artist.  I paint what I see.”

So he died on her birthday.  What a treat!

..do a weird number on my hair once. She gave me a strange cut, then slathered a vegetable oil mixture on my head like it was a green salad and sent me on my way. Fortunately I was able to go right home and shampoo it out, but that was one uncomfortable train ride home.

Raisins are fine in oatmeal or bread but not baked in cookies.

  13. A. Oatmeal cookies should have chocolate chips in them.

    B. Yes, I am an aarper.

    C. No

    D. I don’t have enough to mess up unless it got shaved in patterns and colored oddly.

For National Oatmeal Cookie Day and National Raisin Day, would you prefer the two combined, or is raisins in anything an abomination?  I love raisins, in raisin bread, but like choc chips or nuts in my oatmeal cookies

Are you now, or have you ever been, a member of the AARP? Am a member, and occasionally post to their online forums which are a hotbed of flame wars.  They make GOS look mild mannered.

If you are too young, are you in the habit of traipsing on the lawns of old people? heh.  Am an old people so I traipse on my own lawn daily.

Have you ever had a hairstylist really mess up your hair? How so? Yes.  I have what is called “half-and half hair” in the black community. It is thick but very very fine. Rarely can white or black stylists deal with it well, and they are either clueless and I wind up looking like a mushroom cloud, or they have burned my hair to a crisp (literally).

When I lived in NYC finding a good stylist was easy – Puerto Ricans and Dominicans are used to dealing with my kind of hair. When I moved upstate, after several disasters, I decided to do it myself.
