Today, starting at 8am, donations of $100 or more will be matched, up to $20,000 for the Ride. The Ride is in a week – next Saturday the 27th – and they are only at 39% of the goal raised. So, if you can, please pitch in $100 today (or pool your resources & donate together, to total $100 or more)
I have some t-shirts from past years, in various sizes that I got in order to give away. People who donate $100 or more will get one. I’ll figure out how to mail them later, but I’ve got shirts & I need donations, so come read the rest of the diary for some music (you didn’t think I was going to post a diary without music, did you?). Yes, I know $100 is a lot of money, especially in this economy, but the agencies that benefit from the Ride all provide direct assistance to people who need it, so I’m Calling All (You) Angels:

AIDS Services of Austin provides quality direct-care services to persons with HIV and AIDS. Services include case management, a food pantry, community education and outreach, direct service volunteers, and nutritional consultation. ASA also provides primary dental and oral medical care through the Jack Sansing Dental Clinic, as well as free legal assistance through the Capital Area AIDS Legal Project. ASA also manages the Paul Kirby Emergency Assistance Fund which is available to people with AIDS throughout the community when they have nowhere else to turn. asaustin.org
Community Action, Inc. Rural AIDS Services Program (RASP) creates a positive social impact through case management services by developing a partnership between the client and case manager to work together to maintain client independence and increase access to HIV medical care. Services include case management, transportation services to and from medical and dental appointments, financial assistance for food, rent, utilities and prescriptions in Hays, Caldwell, Blanco, Bastrop, Burnet, Fayette, Lee, Llano and Williamson counties. communityaction.com.

There’s no concert venue in West, so I can’t post a video for you to keep them in your heart, but please do. It is a tiny little town, everyone there has been affected. It looks like 15 may be dead, in a town of 2,800. Several volunteer fire fighters are likely among the dead, and a police officer.
We don’t know why the Boston bombings happened, but I think everyone could use a good dose of imagining good things, so imagine a world without hate:
