can be trained to do stuff??

This morning I slowly asked Emma our puppy (she’s almost 6 months old), to go upstairs and get Sophia (my 11 year old human) because she wouldn’t get up today. She did it! I just had to say it maybe 3 times and stress the “upstairs” and “Sophia”, and she ran up there so fast right into her room and barked until she got up. I am amazed (dogs can be trained?). Sophia, OTH, was not amused.

    Who the fuck knew????

All the birdseed I put out yesterday is gone. I think I’m being pigeonvaded overnight. I put out more seed and the cardinals are enjoying breakfast but we must not let the uninvited raid with impunity.

I’ll need #sekritarmy to come and stand watch. Have Col. Andy send message in today’s code so we can coordinate. Thank you.

Music…..you know all my guilty pleasures, because I share, ha!

    Movie…..hmmmm, nothing comes to mind

food ….bland blah diet continues, so thoughts of all real food are a guilty pleasure

crushes …..I’m fickle! Time to find a new one 🙂

    edible glitter…..don’t have a clue

hobbies…..sewing, needlework, reading, music, antiques, gardening, and interneting, time thief that it is!

I never feel guilty over any music, but it all seems to gravitate to the blues

Do you have a movie that is a guilty pleasure?

Die Hard, and I do feel guilty

    How about a food?

After the triple, it all makes me guilty, but I eat it anyways. Do you want to live forever?

Do you currently have a crush on any famous person?

Myrna Loy. Always have, always will

    What hobbies do you have?

I am a leathersmith, I don’t have time for hobbies. Hobbies are for people with too much time on their hands…lol

  12. mahakali overdrive

Do you have a musical guilty pleasure?

Disco! If you can dance to it, I like it. Seriously, it doesn’t matter how bad it is… bring on the BeeGees, KC and the Sunshine Band, or the Sylvers and one happy gal. Also, I have a non-ironic love for Barry Manilow that I think started out as ironic and then, over time, became an actual love.

Do you have a movie that is a guilty pleasure?

The Twilight Films. We don’t have to talk about it or anything.

    How about a food?

    Pickle chips.

Do you currently have a crush on any famous person?

My husband and I were arguing about whether Roland Barthes was attractive: I came down on the side that he was (he has nice lips), particularly for a Theorist. My husband said, “No, not even for a Theorist.”

    What hobbies do you have?

No time for hobbies, sorry. In some other life, I had these. Does making tempura and bento box lunches count as a hobby?

    And my favorite paintings?

While I love all painting, and I mean, beyond comprehension, for I was an oil painter for years until I ran out of time, as well as a frequent museum-goer, I best love French Rococo and Flemish Baroque.

  13. slksfca

…mostly in memory of a stunning exhibit at New York’s Metropolitan Museum honoring Burne-Jones. I’d taken the train from SF to NYC to visit an old friend who lived

In a dee-luxe apartment in the sky

My friend is no longer with us, but I have lots of sweet memories. 🙂

  14. Aji

And I didn’t realize there were questions now!

    Lemme see:

Do you have a musical guilty pleasure?

    Disco.  And AC/DC.

Do you have a movie that is a guilty pleasure?

Rodriguez movies with Danny Trejo.  Also, the sight of Antonio Banderas in Desperado in his tight black mariachi pants sliding down the bar.

    How about a food?

You mean besides chocolate?  Or sugar generally?  Well, it used to be macaroni and cheese, but I can’t have it anymore [sniffle].  Life is meaningless and full of pain.

Do you currently have a crush on any famous person? Who?

Ummmm . . . I don’t know if you could call it a full-blown crush.  I do think Lenny Kravitz is Teh Hot, if that counts.

Is there room in your life for edible glitter?

Am I betraying my age by admitting that I don’t really know what that is?

    What hobbies do you have?

Writing, reading, painting (for myself), the animals, cooking.  There are other things, but that’s all my brain can handle right now.

  15. Do you have a musical guilty pleasure? Nope, proud of all of it.

Do you have a movie that is a guilty pleasure? Same.

How about a food? Nope, relish all the crap I eat. Though if anyone in the LA area is looking for something to offend moralities across the spectrum I highly recommend the Maple Bacon Doughnut (yes, capitalized) at the Nickel Diner. (often copied, never matched). The Red Velvet doughnut is also insanely good.

Even less guilty is the sushi at Genki in Cary, NC. Tell them I sent you and ask for the $20 special (or $25 if you are really hungry).

Think I may be immune to guilty pleasures as such. While being extremely anti-moral-relativity, I believe that each of us has to create our own moral compass. As such, I enjoy what I enjoy without feeling guilty that I am compromising my own moral compass (usually) and am not really concerned with anyone else’s.

Do you currently have a crush on any famous person? Donna (yeah, “aw”, but true ;~).

What hobbies do you have? I am a panhobbiest.

  16. LeftOverFlowerChild

Now we’ve got students in Texas blasting away at each other, like reasoned, responsible gun owners will do from time to time.
