Friday Morning Coffee Hour: Check In and Hang Out for the Herd

 photo Fridaymorningcoffeehour_zpsba607506.jpg

Friday Coffee Hour and check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What can be easier than that, right?

Right??

Currently 41&deg, headed for a low of 34 before going up to 58 during the daylight hours. This weekend, going to do a little work on my shop, and then Sunday, we are going hiking to do a bit of waterfall photography. First time I’ve picked up a camera since before my surgery.

Here’s one from 2010 – let’s see if I still remember how to do stuff like this…

lovely photo trs. I love waterfalls.

One of the most beautiful cities I’ve ever visited is named for its waterfalls – Cachoeiras de Macacu in Brazil, Cachoeira means waterfall.

  3. It is 31 degrees here on it’s way up to 55 degrees. Our weather sounds a bit like your, trs.

Have fun on your hike … p.s. it is unlikely that you will have forgotten how to photograph things. 🙂

Today will either be a busy day or a crazy busy day. Many of my clients offices are closed for the religious holiday, either all day or a half day, so it should be quiet. But this week has been insanely busy so I need it to catch up.

I was amused by the dustup between President Obama and Eric Cantor. Cantor is beginning to sound suspiciously like Newt Gingrich: “The president’s being mean to meeeeeeeeee!!”. Sounds like that is what the Republicans plan to run on in 2014: the party of disrespect for Obama and his administration. Hey, it worked in 2010, why not?

    See all y’alls later …

am reading the back and forth re: Snowden appearing in the pre-taped “video-phone-in” to Putin.

I’ve decided to stick with reading Wonkette on this, since getting involved in the fight will be a waste of time

    http://wonkette.com/546836/thr

    They have three possible explanations:

The First One: Snowden was naive, fell into Russia’s trap.

The Second One: Snowden’s ends justify his means.

The Third One: Snowden is an actual traitor who spied for Russia.

here in the Purple, boats, waterfalls. Nice.

And, Meta pie for breakfast! Need more coffee to enjoy it all.

Am going to a performance of the St John Passion later. It’s not as great, to my mind, as his St Matthew but it is Bach, after all, so it is a work of genius.

Speaking of genius, was saddened to read that Gabriel Garcia Marquez had died. Reading him got me through many a hard time.

Hope it’s a good day for all in Mooseland. Now on to Snowden.

Nice morning – a little foggy, but that’s ok. Soon enough we’ll be wishing for any moisture in the air.

Very little traffic this morning, a lot of agencies are closed. Not mine. It isn’t impossible that we’ll close at noon, but unlikely; they most likely would have said something.

I have what I really hope is my last appointment at the lymphederma place this morning. Wednesday I was more swollen than they like but I really hope they’ll say I’m done today. I’ve run my sick leave down much further than I like (I like to have a big cushion of sick leave, in case it’s needed)

A busy day ahead, with the PT pool soon and then preparing for our son’s birthday dinner and Easter. I’ve got the flowers all planned but I’d best remember the food is important too!

and a nice weekend – I think.  Got into something, not sure how or what, that is either itty-bitty bites or a rash on both feet.  Itches like mad and is very detrimental to both sleep and concentration.  3rd day and not getting better.  This is not the time of year for lack of concentration.  And nothing seems to even tone the itch down, much less make it go away.  Sigh.  Everybody have a lovely weekend.  {{{HUGS}}} bf

I started showering first thing in the morning instead of working my way through a pot of coffee in my jammies.  I am so much more industrious earlier now.  Today I called my mortgage company to change the frequency of my payments (something I’ve been meaning to do for months), I went to the hardware store and the grocery store (okay, they are next to each other but still), and I started some Edelweiss seeds.  All before heading to work (at noon).  ðŸ™‚

blue skies, going for a high of 65 F. today. We’re going to have rain at the “two o’clock hour,” if that bleached blonde on the news is to be believed. I thought two o’clock was an hour. She also says “the noon hour”–duh. She must have taken the “Never Use One Word When You Can Use Three” 101 in college.

Back to my morning: gave Miss Pink Cheeks her breakfast, supervised her dressing, delivered her to day care, then came home to drink life-giving coffee made by Dearly Beloved. I’ve had to make coffee for so many years for so many men, starting with my father, that now I make DB do it. He does a fantastic job, both with Morning Coffee and Evening Cappuccinos.

Off to lunch with two friends I haven’t seen for a while. Meant to work on the Beltane story yesterday but got engrossed in a book on my Kindle (bad me). On Sunday I’ll start reviewing galleys for my forthcoming e-book, Witchfire.  I’ll work on the Beltane story tonight, it’s getting a bit close to the time. This year at Beltane I plan to toast all my apple trees in cider and thank them for putting up with the awful winter we’ve had.

Portlaw, the Bach concert sounds great. It must be wonderful to live in NYC. There’s a possibility in the wind that my elder son may move back there (the city he loves best in all the world) for work. I’ll miss him and my darling daughter-in-law if he does but at least NYC is within driving and train distance.

Hope everyone will have a wonderful weekend!
