Motley Monday Check in and Mooselaneous Musings

 photo Monday2_zps83ab71bd.jpg

Good morning Motley Meese! Hope your weekend was lovely.

PLEASE Don’t Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The check-in is an open thread and general social hour.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

May get a little warmer but not much. Cold, rainy & gloomy: a very Monday sort of day. But it’s supposed to be sunny & warm the rest of the week so we can take this one day.

    Happy Monday!

  2. It is 40 degrees in Madison on its way up to 59 degrees. Rain this afternoon.

A very quick scan of the news showed that Jeb Bush is thinking of running for president without the nativist wing of his party, the Cheney clan still hearts torture, and when women make emphatic points or demand answers from their positions of authority, they are being “emotional” (read “hysterical”) not forceful.

I have a question if anyone knows the answer. No one in the Bush Administration or the CIA was charged for their crimes against U.S. and international law as it relates to illegal detention and torture. Is there a statute of limitations, can they still be charged? I agree with the Obama Administration that in 2009 we had a lot of really important things to deal with and getting bogged down in litigating the crimes of Bush-Cheney would have been a major distraction. But it appears that there are lots of Republicans who still think that the American people should be party to torture, some who may run for president. President Obama issued a presidential order saying that his administration would not torture but it will expire at noon on January 20, 2017. Perhaps we should throw a few people in jail as a deterrent. Just thinking out loud.

Busy day here. PLEASE stay out of trouble, all y’all!

though the sun is out and shining atm.

Heading off to school in about 45 minutes or so.  Hope I can stay awake to watch the final of March madness tonight – fell asleep in the middle of the win for UConn last night.

    Have a good day folks!

a gloomy Monday with rain waiting to pour down on us.

Got as a present, yesterday, a great book on Yirrkala crayon drawings done by the Yolnygu people in Northern Territory, Australia.  They, the drawings, are so vivid and dramatic that they are already chasing the Monday blues away. Will look at a few more, have just a bit more coffee, and then start the day.

Hope it’s a good day for all.

Eating breakfast – at home, I have a doc appointment, not the lymphoderma people, a yearly exam one. Anyway, watching the news because neither Doctor Who ep that’s on BBCA this morning is a favorite.

It cooled off yesterday, for Texas — I had to wear long sleeves all day. It’s in the 50s his morning, but up to the 70s this afternoon, and really nice all week.

Our grandson is here for his spring break so it will be a fun week. I think The Lego movie is on today’s agenda.

I’m not completely over the kidney stone misery so I’ll have to pace myself. Fortunately he’s a very thoughtful nearly 13 yr old, but his paternal grandparents both died last year so I don’t want him to be worried about me.

but starting to clear off.  I had an icky weekend – either I got food poisoning at a Mexican restaurant Thursday night or the cupcake I was assured was gluten free that I had with coffee Friday wasn’t – starting to feel better but am on the “nibble” regime.  Eating actual meals hurts my tummy, but I can eat the same quantity of food over the course of waking hours if I take the course of my waking hours to do it.  Oh well.  That’s supposed to be better/more natural anyway, right? 🙂  1st day of priority registration but all who’ve called/come in so far haven’t reached their enrollment time.  Got QC (Public Works/County Services committees) tonight. Sigh.  Oh well, it’s paying for my solar setup.  {{{HUGS}}} to everybody in Moosylvania.

here in Northern Virginia. Wow, today is a day for chicken pot pie if there ever was one! That’ll be dinner tonight, prob. with a no-brainer dessert of sliced bananas topped with whipped cream and dusted with cinnamon and chocolate.

It was beautiful this weekend although too cool and windy to do anything outdoors. Miss Pink Cheeks stayed with us Saturday lunchtime through Sunday breakfast. We love to shop at Trader Joe’s after we have breakfast at Virginia Kitchen. We bought poor old 7-months-pregnant Mommy some daffodils.

Finished College Granddaughter’s birthday story and e-mailed it to her this morning. It’s the longest ever–20 pages (6,200 words), six photos, three hypertext links. This girl is 20 years old today and set to graduate with honors from Purdue University in five weeks’ time. She’s amazing! With her degree in Political Science she’s coming back to Texas to work on Leticia Van de Putte’s campaign.

The rest of this rainy day I’m going to do research for my Beltane  story and send more chapters of the novel to my long-suffering desktop publisher. She still hasn’t recovered from the violent scenes in Chapter 9. The good news for her is that there aren’t going to be any more violent scenes.

Hope everyone will have a good day!
