Motley Monday Check in and Mooselaneous Musings

 photo Monday3_zpsc08d979e.jpg

Good morning Motley Meese! Hope your weekend was lovely.

PLEASE Don’t Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the weather jar comment are still welcome.

The check-in is an open thread and general social hour. Come back when time allows through the day – the conversation continues.

It’s traditional but not obligatory to give us a weather check where you are and let us know what’s new, interesting, challenging or even routine in your life lately. Nothing is particularly obligatory here except:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

What could be simpler than that, right?

Rising in rhe next few hours to today’s high of 39 by 6 AM before plummeting 40 degrees to a nightime low just below zero with wund chills of -20+ degrees. For here that’s freak out andvhide cold.

So let’s here from you folks in the upper Midwest who sunbathe & skinny dip in weather like that: how are you muddling through?

One of the holidays that fascinates me – the three astrologers – Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar who “travel afar” bearing gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

Grew up listening to Ella Fitzgerald sing the carol.

and then tonight temps will plummet to around 7 degrees with a high tomorrow of 16. The piles of snow we have are going to melt a bit and then become sheets of ice.

  4. As predicted, it is quite cold here in the upper midwest. Right now -13 degrees with windchills at -35. The coldest point in the morning will be about 8am when the temperature be at 19 below with windchills at 48 below. No school and some businesses are closed.

I will use this as an extra weekend day … a day I catch up on organizing and more or less ignore phones and emails. I want to get a good idea of what I need to do this month. All the mid-week holidays threw off my schedule. Time to get a grip.

    Keep warm everyone!!

Ok, those of you who live in colder climes, don’t laugh. It’s 20 degrees out, for us that’s insanely cold. I wore my leather jacket & thickest gloves & a hat – for the walk from the parking garage into my office, which is about the equivalent of a block. Actually, I was glad to have them in the car — even with the heat full blast, the car barely warmed up during my commute. And it’ll be 70 on Friday. This is why I hate winter.

3 day work week. Then off for my birthday. For now, I’m eating my healthy breakfast & drinking tea.

The good news is that the rain yesterday melted the snow. The bad news is that the streets could turn into an ice rink once the bitter cold sets in tonight.

Miss Pink Cheeks is not in a breakfasting mood this morning. It’s time to dress her and get going to day care.

Another, I read your diary and will contribute when I get home, using my regular computer. Right now I’m using daughter-in-law’s laptop. I’m very fond of Austin, both because it’s a wonderful city and because my daughter and her family live there.

Jan, bundle up, girlfriend! Everyone stay safe and warm today!

55 headed for 10. A year ago today I wandered into Mooseland knowing not one Moose. Everyone was nice to this stranger so thank you all for welcoming me to the Pond. And, as an anniversary present (why else?), Liz Cheney dropped out of her senate race. Life is good.

it must seem places like mid-Missouri are having nearly sub-tropical temps.  We got a mere 5 inches of fluffy snow, which will have frozen rock solid by the time I venture out tomorrow to clear the stuff off the car.  It is currently minus 10 with a windchill of -29, expected high of 2.  Staying indoors in my bathrobe and enjoying Netflix on the iPad.

Except for patches of ice on the hilly streets our winter weather is relatively easy to live with.

    My warm wishes to all!
