What is the tallest building you’ve ever been in? Did you go all the way to the top?

I’ve probably been in some impressively tall buildings, but the only one I remember for sure is the Eiffel Tower. Yes, despite the severe acrophobia, I went to the top.

Are you any good at winter sports, like skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing, ice skating?

Hell, no. If I have to be cold to do it, it gets done as quickly as possible, them back inside.

Did you ever think Welsh Rarebit was Welsh Rabbit?

No. Not that I know what it is, but I always knew the right name.

What languages can you speak or read?

French & German. Used to be fluent in both, stopped using them in college, so I’m not any more. I can read some Spanish because of the French & if it’s spoken slowly enough, I can puzzle some out, because this is Texas & I hear it all the time.

What is your least favorite vegetable?

Brussels sprouts, unless they’re roasted, then they’re yummy.

Empire State Building.  I went to the observation deck.  I’m not sure that’s the top, but it’s high enough!

The only one of those I’ve tried is ice skating, which I found to be a miserable experience.  I’ve always wanted to try cross country skiing, but it’s probably a bit strenuous to be starting at this point.

I think I once did think that.  There was an episode of Gomer Pyle in which we found out he loved Welsh Rarebit.  At the time, I thought, “Is that how Gomer pronounces rabbit?”

I can struggle through a little French.

Beets!  That flavor comes from some alien place where human taste buds are unknown.

Lilly goes back to the vet today for her sneezing and stuffy head. Poor thing.

It’s supposed to be miserable once the sun comes up.

I don’t think I’ve ever been in any of the really tall buildings. Just 30-40th floor, and that’s bad enough. I had just interviewed in a tall building right before 9/11, and a friend and I were commiserating via e-mail about how we hated high rises, and then 9/11 did not help. I have lived as high as the 28th floor, and while the view was spectacular, I like quick street access, and feel isolated when I’m so far up.

Is sitting in front of a fireplace with a glass of wine a winter sport? Because how can you get good at any winter sports when you don’t have winter?

I was always confused by Welsh Rarebit, and Bugs Bunny was no help. I finally tried it when a friend made it for dinner once. It was quite good.

    English, pig-latin, and typo.

My least favorite vegetable is… hmmm, I don’t know. I hate cooked celery, but I like it raw. I don’t like arugula because it tastes perfumey to me. But I think that almost any veggie can be quite good when prepared the right way.
