GOP Rep Cotton: Women’s ‘Greatest Fear’ is Husbands Leaving Them

Back when he was a student at Harvard, Rep. Tom Cotton (R-Arkansas) wrote a piece detailing what he described as women’s greatest fear and the solution to help ease that fear (h/t The Huffington Post).  This conclusion and its basis?

Cotton, who is unmarried, wrote that he surveyed several women — whom he referred to as “Cliffies,” or female students at Radcliffe — and they all told him the same thing: that their “greatest fear” in life was to be left by their husbands, and their “deepest hope” was to be “a good wife and mother.”

And Cotton’s proposed solution?

Make divorce harder through the elimination of no-fault divorce and the promotion of covenant marriage.

His reasoning?

This will help ease women’s greatest fears, stop the ‘problems’ caused by no-fault divorce and keep men in line.

Civil Rights Icon John Lewis Praises Edward Snowden? THEY LIE

I had a real WTF moment yesterday.  The old twitter stream lit up with stories regarding civil rights icon John Lewis praising Edward Snowden, covering him with the laurels of the civil rights movement comparing him to Gandhi.

The story originated from The Guardian the source of  Edward Snowden’s public relations media so I should have taken it with the same grain of salt I have when they’ve dropped bombshell after debunked half true old story bombshell. http://www.theguardian.com/wor…

I should have but I didn’t I actually believed it for a day, until John Lewis himself had the chance to speak about the statement.

By: inoljt, http://mypolitikal.com/

Mexico has recently elected as president Governor Enrique Peña Nieto. The handsome new president won 38.2% of the vote, 6.6% over Andrés Manuel López Obrador of the left-wing Party of the Democratic Revolution (PRD). Peña Nieto’s vote was also 12.8% over Josefina Vázquez Mota, from the right-wing National Action Party (PAN).

Here’s what happened:

Jackie Robinson Statue Defaced in Brooklyn With N-word and Swastika

Travel Jackie Robinson's Brooklyn

A statue that depicts the famous moment when Pee Wee Reese put his arm around Jackie Robinson to show his support during Robinson’s rookie year has been vandalized with hateful words and a swastika:

A swastika, along with the phrases “Heil Hitler,” “die n****r,” “f**k n****r,” and “f**k Jackie Robinson” were all scrawled on the statue, which depicts Hall of Famers Jackie Robinson and Pee Wee Reese in a famous pose from 1947, 1010 WINS reported.

Reese, a southerner, famously put his arm around Robinson in response to the many taunts and threats that Robinson received when he broke the color barrier in baseball.  It was Reese’s way of showing that Robinson was his teammate and he stood by him.  Back then baseball was a truly national institution and its breaking the color barrier was significant.  That the southerner captain of one of baseball’s best teams (the Brooklyn Dodgers won 6 of 10 National League pennants between 1947 and 1956) showed his support in such a manner meant a great deal.
