No to coconut. I am not a general fan of cream pies. But, if I had to pick one, I guess banana.

What color of socks aren’t you wearing today? Do they match?

Right now my feet are bare. Later I will have socks. They will be white. Shoes without socks just feels icky to me.

Do they even have school nurses anymore? Do you appreciate yours?

    I dunno.

Does your mental age match your physical age?

    Sometimes.

At what age level does your sense of humor reside?

Anywhere but adolescence. In school, our 10 year old (5th grade) has a “reading buddy” who is in Kindergarten. Our son is funny with him.  Now, the little kid is taking our son to his friends and saying “BE FUNNY!”  – I am so proud.

I like 5 year old jokes, 10 year old jokes, and grown up jokes, but I am no good at telling dirty jokes and I don’t get why cursing automatically makes things funny (to some people).

    chocolate, of course

What color of socks aren’t you wearing today? Do they match?

I could have worn sandals today, it’s warm enough. But I wore my purple Danskos instead. white socks.

Do they even have school nurses anymore? Do you appreciate yours?

I have no idea. As far as I know I never went to a school that had one.

People frequently tell me they’re surprised I’m as old as I am (49) & that they’d put my age at 30 something instead. I think that’s because I’m a nerd & will be totally nerdily enthusiastic about something if I love it. Do you like coconut cream pie, and if not, what is your preferred cream pie?

No. Give me custard pie, all eggy and shimmering with golden nutmeg on top.

What color of socks aren’t you wearing today? Do they match? They may be black with turquoise stripes if I wear a turquoise shirt. I’m with “Shoes without socks just feels icky to me” except sandals. They get talcum powder to prevent ickiness.

Do they even have school nurses anymore? Do you appreciate yours? I dunno. My niece was a school nurse and later became an OR nurse for a urologist. She told me things I don’t want to know.

Does your mental age match your physical age? The combo seems to go all over the place.

At what age level does your sense of humor reside? I don’t know. What age is Too clever by half?

I have wonderful childhood memories of going with my grandmother to the Horn And Hardart Automat and getting a Coconut Custard pie.  Yum.

What color of socks aren’t you wearing today? Do they match? I’m wearing plaid leotards – does that count?

Do they even have school nurses anymore? Do you appreciate yours?
They do.  My goddaughter has been one.  We have them on campus too. I’ve met ours and she is very helpful and well trained to deal with a broad cross-section of students ills, physical and emotional.

Does your mental age match your physical age? At what age level does your sense of humor reside?

My mom says I was 100 when I was born. I’ve been getting younger over time. So I think my mental age is younger than 65. Don’t know about the sense of humor part.  Some folks think I don’t have one.  I think I have a dry wit but it’s so dry that folks may not get it when they meet me.  Have no idea what my wit age is.

was filmed.  “The filming of the promotional film for Bob Dylan’s ‘Subterranean Homesick Blues’ took place at the side of the Savoy Hotel in London. Actors in the background were Allen Ginsberg and Bob Neuwirth. This became one of the first ‘modern’ promotional film clips, the forerunner of the music video. The original clip was actually the opening segment of D. A. Pennebaker’s film, Don’t Look Back, a documentary on Bob Dylan’s 1965 tour of England. In the film, Dylan, who came up with the idea, holds up cue cards for the camera with selected words and phrases from the lyrics. The cue cards were written by Donovan, Allen Ginsberg, Bob Neuwirth and Dylan himself. While staring at the camera, he flipped the cards as the song played.”

Cream pie:  I am not the biggest coconut fan.  Banana cream is much more my speed.

Socks:  I wore purple yesterday.  Too warm for socks today.  My socks always match and are often knitted.

School nurses:  yep, though I am sure they are grossly underpaid.  My nephew has juvenile diabetes and his school nurse is so important to keeping him on an even keel.

Mental age/physical age:  who knows, I am a thirty nine year old with two small kids married to a man who spent his twenties in the improv scene in Chicago.  We love to laugh and have a good time.  Get togethers with friends are always loud and full of joy but there are some things i take VERY seriously. Politics, education, women’s issues.  I think of it as balance.

My sense of humor tends toward sarcasm rather than slapstick.  My husband and children prefer the later.

I haven’t worn socks since before my surgery. They’re too much trouble to get on and off without bending over too far.

Banana cream pie was one of my grammy’s best pies. I also like a good chocolate cream pie. Coconut, not so much.

My sense of humor is schizophrenic. Sometimes it’s very grown up indeed; other times it’s firmly stuck in the fifth grade.

  8. some answers…

Do you like coconut cream pie, and if not, what is your preferred cream pie?

If meringue pie is cream pie, that’s for me. Otherwise I don’t much like cream pies.

What color of socks aren’t you wearing today? Do they match?

I’m NOT wearing all colors but white, though some would argue that white is all colors. Not sure I get the question…

Do they even have school nurses anymore? Do you appreciate yours?

I think they do. I don’t think any k-12 I went to had a school nurse, though.

Does your mental age match your physical age? At what age level does your sense of humor reside?

I’m 52. Today I feel old. Usually I think I am 10 years or more younger. I don’t like slapstick 3 Stooges types of humor; I don’t like “humor” at the expense of other people. Whether that makes my humor grown up or childish is not something I know.

I have never had coconut cream pie. My former objection to coconut was texture, so if it’s creamy I might like it. I love both banana and lemon cream pie.

I never go without socks. Even at home, having cats and hardwood floors, they provide a layer of protection. 90% of my socks are black, same style, which means fewer mismatched socks when the dryer takes its tribute. It is difficult to put on socks when you are only supposed to use one hand.

There was a nurse at my grade school, she was nice. Her son murdered a family execution style (this was when I was in high school). I remember feeling very sorry for her.

I think some of my geekiness keeps my mental age younger than my physical age.

My sense of humor ranges all over the place. I can be twelve, I can be ancient.

Today’s holidays include National Coconut Cream Pie day and No Socks day. Do you like coconut cream pie, and if not, what is your preferred cream pie?  I don’t like coconut in any form.  Custard, Vanilla or Chocolate Cream, or Lemon would all be fine.

What color of socks aren’t you wearing today? Do they match?  I’m not wearing black socks today.  For the first time this week I am actually wearing socks, ironically enough.  It’s raining here so I decided to go with socks/sneakers instead of my sandals.

Do they even have school nurses anymore? Do you appreciate yours?  They do in our local district, anyway.  Can’t say I remember having one when I went to school.  Our office has a P.A. on site as well.  She’s helpful.

Does your mental age match your physical age?  Probably not.  I feel older than I am physically.  Mentally, younger.  At what age level does your sense of humor reside?  heh.  Somewhere in first grade, I think.

Remember when press wanted every detail of Hillary Clinton’s medical records? Christie has secret surgery under fake name & he’s a hero.

I can’t say I remember the press wanting Hillary’s medical records?  When was this?

Regarding Christie, I don’t blame the guy for doing it secretly; honestly I don’t think it should be anyone’s business but his & his doctors.  Was watching Bloomberg News yesterday and they were joking that they should set up a “Christie Weight Tracker” index, and that pissed me off.  They make fun of his weight, then they make fun of him trying to lose weight.  I don’t like the guy as a politician, and hate that he’s my governor, but that has to do with his policies not his weight.

Sorry, mini rant over.  I’m just sensitive to it all being fairly overweight myself.

son was up at 2am and never really went back to sleep. left message for his shrink.

    i love coconut cream pie.

i am wearing pink socks.  i hate hate hate having cold feet and love nice socks.

iirc, my kids’ junior high has a nurse. while in the elementary schools, the office gals have first-aid training.

absolute no clue on the age matching stuff.  for humor or mental or physical.  the last 18 months have been . . . hard on me.

You may recognize the piano player in this video.  You don’t get too good a look at him until near the end.
