Greetings and happy Wednesday, Bomberinos. Let me say that I loved everyone’s responses to yesterday’s nosy questions. Too bad work keeps me from hanging out and really getting into the discussion.

What is your biggest regret in your life? Would you want to be immortal? If you were, what would you do with your time? If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, would you still be friends? (What do you mean, you never talk to yourself?) Here’s an old question: If you had one wish that could be granted in full, what would you wish for? If you suddenly had a huge financial windfall, what would you do with it?

    Very hard questions this morning, I’ll have to actually think about my replies (the HORROR!). 😉

    As always, the hovers delight. Also as always, some of my favorite painters (de la Tour, for example) along with some that are new to me. F Bomb University FTW!

    If I could be at my physical and mental peak, then it might be OK, I could spend the rest of my life learning, and the stack of unread books on my coffee table would shrink a little faster, and I’d be able to see the entire world eventually…

    Oh, I’d need some kind of income. Being an immortal working stiff just sounds dreadful.

    That I missed a trip to China.

    If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, would you still be friends? (What do you mean, you never talk to yourself?) Yes – because i have a friend who is like that and we’ve been friends for many many years



    Here’s an old question: If you had one wish that could be granted in full, what would you wish for?     To end poverty – worldwide.



    If you suddenly had a huge financial windfall, what would you do with it?     Fund a camp for gang members.  

    I’d also use part of it to travel to China, India and Australia – 3 parts of the world I haven’t visited.

    Sure, if I could stay healthy in mind and body

    If you were, what would you do with your time?

    For now, I’d keep doing what I’m doing. As time goes on, I develop new interests and lose old ones.

    If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, would you still be friends? (What do you mean, you never talk to yourself?)

    Anyone who talks the way I talk to myself would probably be locked up.

    Here’s an old question: If you had one wish that could be granted in full, what would you wish for?

    I’ll go with one that I post on StreetProphets and Brothers and Sisters sometimes:

    May all who wish for peace have their wish granted. May all who do not wish for peace have their hearts changed.



    If you suddenly had a huge financial windfall, what would you do with it?

    Depends how big. If it was Gates-like, then I’d like to start a fund to recognize, reward and publicize acts of civil behavior and virtue. Doing it right would be very expensive, though.

    Another idea would be to do something like the MacArthur genius prize.

    Both those ideas would, I think, not only be of benefit to society but they’d be very interesting to work on, as well.

    …I would underwrite young artists and performers, because they have potential to add immeasurable joy and delight to a world where both are in too short supply. Plus, it would do my leathery old heart good to see young things thrive. As the title character of Hello Dolly put it,

    Money is like manure. It’s not worth a thing until it’s spread around, encouraging young things to grow.

    Regret:  a lack of self confidence in my late teens and early twenties.  I had it going on but just didn’t know it.  I didn’t come into my own until my late twenties.  

    Immortal:  nope

    What would you do with your time:  that’s exactly it, the sense of urgency propels us toward action.  Remove that and I’d be listless.

    Friends:  yes, I have thick skin

    Wish:  that we will find a way to mitigate climate change.  

    Windfall:  build my dream home in the mountains and check out

    What is your biggest regret in your life? I don’t generally have a lot of regrets, but these days I regret having trusted the wrong people.

    Would you want to be immortal? No.

    If you had a friend who talked to you like you sometimes talk to yourself, would you still be friends? hmm…

    If you had one wish that could be granted in full, what would you wish for? I wish people didn’t suffer from physical, nutritional hunger.

    If you suddenly had a huge financial windfall, what would you do with it? Feed and house people first, fund education and the arts second.

    …because I know once I go down that rabbit hole I’m damn near a lost cause. 😉 But the big one, I think, is that at various stages of my life I didn’t give myself enough credit to really accomplish great things I knew deep down that I could do. It always seemed to me like the timing was wrong, like I was too old or something, when in fact that was hardly ever the case at all — just my own limited vision of my own potential.

    Sorry, ask a serious question, get a serious answer. ;-p

    So my wish is that I could both remember them without scrolling back and forth….and then to occasionally answer a few! I missed yesterday because I woke up late and then went outside to the garden even though it was raining. So now I’ll have 2 days of answers to read…..after the pool and my Wednesday afternoon with the grand girls.

    Someday I may be able to think clearly and fast enough to play along.
