Be sure you let your peeps know where to find you!

‘Mornin’ peeps, and happy Monday. After a chilly weekend and progress on the workshop, I’m back to work today. Lucky trs is celebrating dead presidents with a day off; of course he’s back at the workshop starting the electrical.

Before we begin, some important miscellaneous reminders:

Always remember the Moose Golden (Purple?) Rule:

Be kind to each other… or else.

And now, on with the show…

Headed for a high of 45.

You will be astonished to know that nobody had the nerve to vote “fail” on domestic felines last week. We’ll see how the doggies do this week.

The cold that has been nipping at my heels all week has finally caught up to me. My nose, throat, and chest are ready to be traded in for newer more healthy models. I went to the store and got some ‘nice’ gushy food to feed the fever, and some ice cream to feed my bad case of the grumps.

    In other news……

We are at 29 degrees here in st Charles.  Going up to almost fifty.  Windy. A front is coming bringing colder air again for tomorrow.

I am going to work today.  Now that I work so infrequently it seems even more difficult to go.  I would much rather stay here with the kids today. Non well.  A few extra bucks never hurt anyone.

warming up today, 32 expected to reach near 50 with some rain. hopefully it will wash away all the dirty snow.

i’m having an issue when the ‘reply’ comment thread gets pushed to the right, it’s compressing my rating screen and i lose my ‘fierce’ button.

i instinctively click the right most rating which turned out to be ‘meh’.

this happened twice yesterday in my diary.

this is what my comment screen looks like.

it’s 19 they say, but wind chill makes it zero or lower.

My two dogs took a very very short trip outside to do the morning pee on a tree thingee, looking at me very mournfully as I opened the back door for them to go out.

The older of the two, usually meanders for about an hour – he makes endless circles before ultimately deciding where to poop (or pee) but this morning he was back in a flash.

Am home from school because of holiday but they changed my Monday class to Tuesday so I have to go in tomorrow. Will spend the day indoors, writing tomorrow’s front porch piece.

going to nose dive with mixed precip this afternoon.

24 hours to email time.  Please call with an offer?!?!?!?!?!

I sooo don’t want to work today, a bunch of little items to work on.

Iriti, our weather is pretty much the same as yours today. Sunny with no wind & well above freezing, it’ll be gorgeous.

    TRS, I just ran a lot of hot water over the dishes, including spraying them nice and clean. Thought you’d want to know. 8-}

Bright sun and at least no wind. I spend part of every day tending to my Shrubberies and [half] Vast Tracts of Land but will wait ’til it warms up a little bit;-). Stay warm and safe, moosie friends!

I wish all of you people:

    1.) Have safe travels

2.) Have a house hold that is in good health

    3.) Warm up

It is 59* here in Fort Worth with a high pushing 70*

Remember to not get too carried away and pace yourself today while celebrating past US Presidents. It is a shame that they limit such a grand celebration to one day a year.

Just checking in…has been a hectic couple weeks for me, but, I’m still lurking about (surprising, no?). /grin

Hope everyone is keeping warm…I, for one, can’t wait for Spring to spring  (wish it had done sprung).

    Catch y’all when I catch ya…

    /grin

that’s what the weather guy says when the wind will be blowing steadily at 15-19 mph with gusts below 25. It’s only windy when it’s steady at over 20 mph but honestly if you’re out in you can’t tell the difference. It’s all gritty.

  13. Broke and Unemployed

…at 7AM when I was waiting for bus. It’s 23 now, and will get to the 40’s. Then tomorrow we’ll have one of those days in Ohio where the temp goes down all day, not up. Not like there’s a giant fireball 93 million miles away that’s supposed to heat us up during the day or anything. {sigh}.

The worst thing about Ohio weather isn’t the cold, it’s the rapid and frequent changes in weather. Here we like to say “if you don’t like the weather in Ohio, just wait 5 minutes and it’ll change.”

One good thing about this time of year: March is coming up, which is maple syrup season, which means pancake breakfasts!! I look forward to it all year.

Anyways, things seem to be heating up at the Moose. There seems to be more diaries and more comments than before. The Moose is much friendlier place than other liberal corners of the Internet, so I’m glad this place is doing well.

    Have a good day, Moose.

    They predict rain for tomorrow.

I have a lot to try and get done this week and not much desire to do it. ::sigh::

    I haz proof!:

     photo bulbs2.jpg

Flower bulbs are starting to show some green shoots.  The ones in front are crocus, so I expect to see some blooms soon.

Rain expected this week, which is good.  Despite getting drenched in December we’ve had almost no rain since then and are behind the curve now.

Wishing a safe and warm day to all in Mooselandia.

  16. This morning I euthanized my 23-year-old Morgan gelding after a cruel, roller-coaster, ultimately unwinnable battle against founder.

He went swiftly, peacefully into surcease from pain.  He died with dignity, with his pride and spirit intact, and with a cookie in his mouth.

It was the right thing to do and it hurts like hell.

I hope that in your grief you will be able to take some comfort in knowing that you did the best thing, at the best point in time. You prevented needless suffering and honored your commitment to an equine friend. All domestic animals deserve that, but few get it when the chips are down.

What a beautiful horse and even though it is the right thing to do, it does indeed hurt like hell :  (

A group of over 100,000 dolphins spotted off the coast of San Diego caused a spectacle for nature watchers as they traveled together in an enormous pack.

‘They were coming from all directions, you could see them from as far as the eye can see,’ Joe Dutra said after seeing the spectacle first hand.

Mr Dutra, who captains Hornblower Cruises, was out on his daily tour with a boat full of nature watchers when he spotted the massive group of dolphins.

Strange days indeed, most peculiar momma
