John McCain and Sarah Palin thought that they had found the secret to winning Ohio, Indiana and Pennsylvania.

Unfortunately, a few missteps and the whole thing back fired.

Someone noticed the Donna Karan tag on Sarah Palin’s bonnet.

McCain’s brother, Joe, told the crowd that they could all go &^%$ themselves.

And everyone was completely confused by

It was written in response to the arrests of the 2 young skinheads arrested for plotting to decapitate black Americans and kill Barack Obama.

I wish that American news sources would address this arrest in context, as does this piece.

The candidates’ schedules and what they tell us

One week from now, we will decide the thing for once and for all.  Word came yesterday that the the RNC has bought advertising time in Montana in an effort to win its three electoral votes for John McCain.  The last Democrat to win in Montana was Bill Clinton in 1992 when Ross Perot was on the ballot.  This year, Ron Paul is on Montana’s ballot.

So, wait….

Over the last few days we have heard about some extravagant spending by the Republicans. The $150,000 for clothes for Ms. Palin and Fam, and now expenditures for art restoration, elephant-shaped shrubbery, baseball tickets, a yacht rental, lunches for Karl Rove, 250 wine glasses adorned with elephant designs, elephant shaped chocolates, jewelry and political paraphernalia, more clothes from Lands End…

In all of this what I want to know is, how much of all this was spent using public financing? Yeah some came from private donations via the RNC, but did any of it come from McCain’s budget? If so…

Ted Stevens Convicted on ALL 7 Counts! UPDATED

Senator Ted Stevens was convicted today on all 7 counts of lying on his financial disclosure forms.  Details from the Alaska Daily News:

Jurors found Stevens, 84, guilty of willfully filing false financial-disclosure forms that hid such gifts as a $2,695 massage chair, a stained glass window, a sled dog and renovations that doubled the size of his Girdwood home. Those gifts, valued at as much as $250,000 over seven years, came mostly from his former friend Bill Allen, the star prosecution witness in Stevens’ trial and the former owner of Veco Corp.
