I swear to god I’m not making this up
You’ve no doubt heard about the wardrobe.
For anyone wondering if Mrs Palin’s trademark red jackets, the $2,500 (£1,530) Valentino outfit worn for her Republican convention acceptance speech, or even the $3,000 Louis Vuitton handbag that her six-year-old daughter, Piper, was holding on September 11, came from the wardrobe at her home in Wasilla, Alaska, they did not.
Okay, maybe it’s not Piper’s. Maybe she was carrying it for her mom. I dunno. But this makes me madder than hell, and I want you folks to understand why. That’s a Louis Vuitton handbag, and it cost $3,000.
That is not my car precisely. I don’t have a picture of my hideous car, but this is the same one. It’s a “green” 1996 Geo Prizm. Mine has a crapload of rust, it makes some funny noises, the interior is coming apart, and I’ve got a bike rack on the back. But that’s the right year and color. Mine cost me $3,000. That’s apparently what the RNC spent on Piper Palin’s purse. I want to repeat this:
THAT SIX YEAR OLD GIRL’S PURSE COST AS MUCH AS MY CAR!
In one hand she’s got a McDonald’s cup. In the other she’s got a handbag that cost as much as my freaking car! My car! My piece of crap conveyance that (generally) gets me from my apartment to my job. On the days I can’t ride my bike, that piece of shit is my lifeline. A freaking six year old has a freaking purse that cost as much as my goddamned car?!?!
I’m voting for Barack Obama, dammit. If he’s an elitist, then I really gotta wonder what you call somebody who gives their kid a purse that cost them as much as my car! And no, of course Governor Palin didn’t use her own money! Republican donors bought it. I doubt they thought they’d be buying a freaking six year old a $3,000 purse when they sent in their donation, but here ya go!
These people are running way behind in fundraising and they are losing. This is how they spend what money they’ve got? I don’t want to hear one goddamned word about fiscal responsibility from the Republicans for the next four years.
And I never wanna see another six year old carrying a purse that cost as much as my car, ever again!
They plan to donate this wardrobe to charity? What charity is looking for a three thousand dollar handbag? One carried by a six year old no less! For the campaign that swears up and down they’re putting country first, that they will keep us safe, that they are serious people, this is freaking hilarious and tragic.
Meh. I’d rather vote for this guy!
