They keep hoping he'll fail.

WTF! Do these idiots realize what they’ll get if their wish is granted? For Obama to fail means the economy must stay bad, or the wars go badly in Afghanistan or Iraq,  or Iran gets the bomb, or another terrorist attack takes place in the U.S., or…

Why do they hate America?

Sorry. Had to rant. Teh crazy gets harder and harder to take every day.

Zee Lounge: Evolution Edition

Zee stupid, it burns our brains.

We are beginning to wonder why the United States is listed as a developed nation when the majority of her citizens are still living in the dark ages — or at the very least, somewhere in the first half of the 1800s.

Monday September 28, 2009: The Day in Tubes

Happy Monday to you. Or perhaps we are just happy it is almost over. It has been a rough few days for us due to a moderate health scare, but I am pleased to report all is well and we can start getting back to normal. Whatever the heck that means;~J

I am not sure the same can be said for the health care reform bill in Washington. I hope we can stop efforts by certain Senators to turn HR into a boondoggle for big pharma, big health care, and big insurance companies.

BraveNewFilms is trying to expose what the Baucus bill might mean for all of us.

Call your Senators and let them know that you demand a public option. The number is 202-224-3121. Do it now. Tap. Tap. Tap. Finished yet? Oh. Ok, you can wait until morning, but after that, NO MORE EXCUSES!!!

Lee Camp gives us a few examples of the oppositions view.

In a world where republicans lead…oh wait. Been there, done that. Let’s not go there again. Please?

Why I Still Hope for No More H8

(Also at Nevada Progressive)

Those first few days were the worst. I was scared. I was depressed. I felt less than human.

Prop H8 had passed in California. And even though I didn’t have any immediate marriage plans, I nonetheless felt like all my future hopes and dreams were ripped away from me. I didn’t know what to do… Until I got active in working to undo the damage.

Yet even though I’m seeing progress in my new home state, I still have raw feelings about what happened in California last fall. I still have wounds that are only starting to heal.

End of Quarter Fundraising Push for Democratic Candidates for Senate

{First, a cheap plug for my blog Senate Guru.}

The last day of the third fundraising quarter of 2009 (whoa, time really flies!) is this Wednesday, September 30.  Our Democratic candidates for Senate need to make as big a fundraising splash as possible in the third quarter to help refute the growing conventional wisdom among the traditional media pundits that 2010 could be a Republican year.

Please, please, please consider making a contribution today to our Democratic candidates for Senate via the Expand the Map! ActBlue page.  I’ve set some lofty, pie-in-the-sky goals that, if we were able to meet them, I’d be wonderfully surprised and gratified and blown away by your generosity.

Please click on over to the Expand the Map! ActBlue page and make a contribution to help stop ongoing Republican obstruction in the Senate.  Every contribution makes a real impact whether it’s $100 or $25 or $10 or, well, any amount.  Want to rebel against multiples of five and contribute $63 or $39 or $27, knock yourself out!

Remember, the fundraising quarter ends this Wednesday, so please contribute today if you can.  Thank you SO much!

"I Don't Need Maternity Care."

Not much of a diary but I am stunned at what I just saw. Namely that before the Senate Finance Committee wrapped up for the weekend, members debated one of Senator Jon Kyl’s of Arizona amendments, which would strike language defining which benefits employers are required to cover.

Daily Tubes for September 24 & 25, 2009

It looks as if Glenn Beck got a BIG honor today. Headzup explains.

Finally, somebody sees the real Glenn Beck. Oh wait, Michele Backmann also had some fine things to say about Beck and the rest of the fox cult leaders.

Fox is the only “news” channel telling the truth? Have I mentioned lately that I believe Ms Bachmann is legally insane? The evidence is mounting.

The Onion has revealed ways to better secure our homes. We just need to arm our children!

Aw, isn’t he cute? Cheers to our future psychopaths of America.

New No on 1 Maine Ad UP!

(Also at Nevada Progressive)

H/T to Louise at The Blend for finding it!

Thankfully, No on 1 didn’t pull any punches in calling out the ugly and baseless lies that have simply been recycled from Massachusetts and California by the same far right Republican consultants that ran Yes on H8 in California. Still, they need our help to keep these ads on the air so that the truth isn’t drowned out by Yes on H8/Yes on 1’s lies.

Please donate whatever you can to help keep this and other No on 1 ads on the air in Maine. You can also help by signing up to volunteer. The poll numbers are very close, so every dollar and/or hour donated helps!
