Sunday Morning Herd Check-in: Grazings and Greetings of the Moosekin

Make sure you let your peeps know where to find you!

If you are new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, or Meh. Just Meh.

– Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does.

– Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment thread gets longer, it takes a bit to reload and the comment may not display as quickly. Clicking the Post button twice posts the comment twice. (h/t Khloe)

– When creating a new diary, remember to choose the Draft option (near the bottom) while you are working on it. Choose the Public option when you want to publish it. (h/t Khloe)

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

25 degrees with lake effect dustings through the night. I’m off for the next two nights, so I hope Mother Nature is kind and generous with large amounts of the frozen wet stuff. It never seems as bad when someone else has to shovel.  😉

    In other news…..

Somewhere and then get home mundanely.

Seen none of the pictures but have curiosity and like always to watch a few intimate seconds of bygone stars out of regular script character.

No idea re mentioned host, hunch he’ll be awful.

You know there’ll be some unscheduled advocacy pitched from the stage.

Some historically fraudulent entries loom for prizes.

Shocking no one in Hollywood, mostly because they don’t know any better.

Wonder if Clint’s chair will rate a cameo?

MO with a high of 34.  Took me a while but the foot of snow is finally cleared from the middle of the car roof.  The driveway and parking lots are free of snow so I’m gonna take the chance to get to the laundromat.  The next storm will likely just bring us rain but it is snowing at Kelley’s house.  She got all her pre-snow stuff done so I think she is hoping for a a lot.  The radar for Denver south to the Springs is bright white, which usually means heavy snow.  Enjoy your Sunday!

Hi Moozog, hope you are enjoying your weekend. Mine are always too darn short!

Economy in Europe is contracting, and I’m noticing it. 🙁 My most regular clients have not been as generous with work, so I have to do some new client acquisition the next few weeks, which means less time fooling around on the blogs, sigh. I did put up a couple of news items in the weekend news thread, I hope you read them to expand your horizons! 😛

I came home from sitting last night and crashed.  I slept so well I am now wide awake before my kids ( usually they wake me up).

Twenty degrees going up to thirties with lots of sun today.  Only one showing this morning so not too bad.  Going to try to knit today but we will see how much time I get.  Uh oh….. The kids are up, gotta go. : )

I have been wide awake since 2:30 in the morning. I think I will tackle the laundry and see what else the day brings me.

It is actually quite nice in NJ–36 and sunny. Yesterday we collected 78 bags of food and $80 for our local food bank. The need is great here in the Trenton/Princeton area. Our original food drive was snowed out 2 weeks ago. People were very generous yesterday.

It’s going to be 50° and sunny today. Friends of mine are managing a warehouse sale up in Frederick and I’m going to go and hang out with them. I haven’t bought a load of junk in ages. They have a Wegmans there!

Currently 37, with an expected high of 45. I’m still on my first cup of coffee (not a good sign), and am eating a bagel for breadfast. Iriti says hi – one of the drawbacks to the shoulder injury is she has problems bending over and picking up the laptop from the floor. Today’s projects – shopping and laundry, then I have a tech rehearsal for the play I’m currently working on.

Yesterday I marked the trench that I’m going to dig for power, so the utilities can mark where their stuff is running. That way, I don’t cut anything I shouldn’t. I also ran the main feeder line between the meter box and breaker panel. Working with that heavy gauge wire (2/0) is a pain. It takes tools to bend it – you (or at least I) can’t bend it by hand. You also have to use bolt cutters or a hacksaw to cut it. In other words, a pain.

YesterdayI treated myself to some calla lily and daylily bulbs for my back yard and began planting. Today we expect another 71 degree day. We will be putting our house on the market this summer and I am hoping that someone will appreciate a nicer-than-most back yard with some holly trees, magnolias, Bradford pears, and mature perennials and a little extra color. Plus any chore outdoors beats cleaning the house 😉

Should be a pretty day here in Fort Worth (70) but they are talking a possibility of snow tomorrow. I think it is just a ruse to get people to watch the news.

I hope everyone here has the kind of day they want to have.

  12. Absolutely beautiful here in land. I was so good yesterday in getting Quicken caught up. I still need to do one account but must wait until customer service is available tomorrow.

I am working real hard on getting all of the old art updated on my website. I have new figures, textures, and techniques to make the pictures look more realistic. As soon as everything is updated I’ll be getting the site up on as many networking places as I can to see if I can get some commissions to do artwork.

I will be in church shortly–my husband says I do everything shortly, as I am only 5 feet tall…

My daughter is part of a teen choir that will be singinging an anthem this morning. She came downstairs in a very springy orange dress and high heeled sandals. She told me, “It’s spring! I don’t want winter anymore, so it is spring!” Meanwhile I have pants and a sweater on for our current 30 degrees and snow flurries. At least she will be wearing a choir robe soon to keep her warm.

Ah, to be 15 and willing spring to come, snow flurries be damned!

50°F right now heading toward 60°F this afternoon. Beautiful blue skies out there this morning.

Hand-washing some more clothes today and hanging them to dry in the bathtub. Tomorrow, packing the overnight bag.

it’s 24 on the lakefront, mostly sunny and

rather chilly as highs struggle into the

lower 30s, about 5 degrees below seasonable

normal. there’s sunshine all over the place.

    hi {{{Khloe}}}

here’s a wonder wheel of woozles to brighten your day.

    have a great day everyone!

It’s a dazzlingly white day here on the west coast of Wisconsin. I’m lolling about before going to work in my church’s booth at a kids’ fair this afternoon.

Looking forward to the Oscars tonight because I like to see the dresses and I’m okay with how shallow that sounds.

I have been buying primroses for several weeks so yesterday was planting day, and when my back recovers I can buy some more! I added red pussy willow branches and ferns to the containers, found all the pots of daffodils I had stashed under the hedge, and created a bit of spring for our back entrance stairs and patio.

We may have more winter weather, but primroses are usually tough enough to survive.

Grading day today. Got a journal paper to review and a pile of student work to grade.  Sunday office hours too… Seniors have project presentations this week.

    Have a good Sunday everyone.

since we wanted to get our outside stuff done before the wind got up. It’s still breezy today but brisk at a steady 20 mph from the south. Overnight it’s going to shift to the west and start howling and stay that way for a couple of days. We did get one window in the bedroom yesterday. Later this week we’ll have a chance to do the other one. It’s so nice and I admit to being way cheered up about our progress.

46 F here, windy and overcast. They say it’s supposed to rain today, but that’s what they said yesterday.

Missed church (again) today, morning-challenged as I am. So I contented myself with a podcast from Taize and resolved to try to do better next week. This is my life…
