    Even Blanco mentions Newtown in his poem, following what seemed a pretty aggressive speech from Obama – that is not a criticism, I have always thought he needs to carry a shiv when meeting with congress.

    O’s call for citizen action sites himself as tribune of the people. Everyone does this; I think he does it successfully.

    Now gays mentioned again in the closing prayer! O man!

    In many ways, the president’s re-election is even more powerful than his election. It shows that we really have come a long way in this country. I was in tears. I loved the speech.

    inauguration did. Yes, I am old enough to remember the 1961 inauguration. I was able to watch it because we had a snow day from school. Carl Sandburg, who served in the Spanish-American War, was the poet laureate. We have come father than I ever imagined in 52 years. The torch has been passed.

  6. However the winner today is our First Lady Michelle Obama and she took it with a look to John Boehner that was proof positive the human gaze alone can’t cause someone to eat shit and die.
