Since 2008 – Progress Through Politics

Again, One More Time With Feeling: ASK NOT! to all of you lazy little snots Who Did Not Vote!

This will be the third time I have posted this diary. As time has passed I have posted it each time in a slightly different manner. I first posted it the day after President Obama was elected, and then posted it again a week or so before he was sworn in as President of the United States of America.

I am posting it once again, because I was reminded of my earlier diaries by DeniseVelez’s latest diary that shared Mark Morford’s  Letter to a whiny young Democrat. I am posting it again, because we all have let our country, our President, and ourselves down. I am posting it again, because it is still not too late to do something to change the course we are on towards 2012. Finally, I am posting it again, because I am sick to death of liberals and progressives having the attention span of a gnat, and shitting on the one chance I have ever seen of actually making a difference for the future of the United States of America.

So here goes nothing…now pay attention and pass it along!

Ask Not… **Updated** (+)

Slightly edited and re-posted from November 5, 2009. I was listening to Tavis Smiley this morning and was reminded of this earlier post. I will update with the clip from Morning Joe-Boy (or “Jughead” as Stewart calls him), if I can find a tube. Tavis rocks. I have liked him forever. And I really like Jughead. (Please note the “dripping with sarcasm” alert>:E)

Ask Not…

I have a couple of important issues that I want addressed by our new President. God, after eight long years, it feels so good to call someone President again. President Barack Hussein Obama.

However, I am going to skip over my desires and speak to something I think our new President needs. Something our country needs. Something our world needs.

We need you.

I am taken back to JFK and his question to America. I think it applies now more than ever.

We need you. We got President Obama elected, but that was the easy part.

We need you. To change our country. To take our respect back. To take our Constitution back.  To take our country back.

We need you. To make our elected servants do what they must for our country.

We need you. To make certain our media speaks to the truth.

We need you. To not let the haters win.

We need you. We are you, and together we can change the world.

**Updated with the Tavis Smiley interview.

I like Smiley, because he is able to get to the point so succinctly, and he is right on target very often.

Return to circa November 6, 2010.

We failed in 2010. We let the crazy people lie and lie and lie. We let the super rich buy and buy and buy. And what do we have to show for it? A bunch of bat shit, crazy nut bags elected to lead our country.

So now we need to get off our collective asses and show this country what the truth is, and not let the bat shit, crazy nut bags win. Yeah, I am talking about you Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann. For crying out soft, Bachmann and Paul won, and Feingold and Grayson lost? Are you kidding me?

WTF is wrong with us? Do we really think that President Obama could do this all by himself? Not that he hasn’t tried, because if memory serves me correctly, this President has accomplished more in his first two years in office than any other President since FDR. This President has created more jobs in eight months than that imbecile bush did in eight years. Imagine what he could do if WE HAD HIS FUCKING BACK!!!

So no more Ms nice Hollede. If we don’t do something…anything to help our President, I am going to hunt every single one of you down, and spray paint whiny young Democrat across all of your foreheads!!! So don’t tempt me, because I am pissed and psycho enough to do it if this happens again in 2012!

Check out our future if we don’t work our butts off for 2012…

Thank you John, for posting that little nugget earlier this week.

Oh and did I forget to mention that Keith Olbermann was just suspended indefinitely, because he donated money to Democratic candidates? Yeah, he is an ego maniacal jackass, but he is also one of the few liberal voices on the MSM.  Hmmm, I haven’t noticed Jughead being suspended for donating to Republican candidates. And don’t get me started on CNBC…

So goodnight and good luck, cause Keith isn’t around to say it anymore.

If you could not tell, I am pissed and depressed about the election this week:~E It could have been worse, but not by much.

I cannot believe that my beautiful Minnesota finally elected a Democratic Governor (for now at least…we may have to wait a year or so for the recount), and then voted in a Republican controlled state senate and house for the first time in like 50 years. It is making me sick to my stomach. Not to mention we have to look at that lunatic Michele Bachmann for another two years. Oh and my Congressman, Jim Oberstar lost his re-election bid. This shit is just sick…

I am now wandering off and hope I can sleep without too many nightmares…

Cantor said any tax increase to fix entitlements is off the table.

Lindsey Graham wants to attack Iran.

The world is regressing before our eyes. What a bunch of maroons. It would seem life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has taken a back seat to “greed is good”. It appears a very mean season is upon us.

supporters sat this one out.  They must not be aware of the consequences.  Perhaps they thought that Barack Obama would be able to change things permanently all by himself.  If so, I fault the educational system for not drilling into schoolkids’ skulls the concepts of Separation of Powers and of Divided Government and of the responsibility to participate in our Democracy by voting.

At the same time, I blame the news media for failing to clearly call the loons out for their lies, distortions, and fantasies.  I also blame the Democrats for not developing a simple, straightforward, and coherent message.  And I’ll share the blame for not supporting good candidates more.  I did vote, of course.  My Congressman, an R., got reelected.  He’s pretty much a shoe-in in this district.  Our governor, a D., got reelected by a healthy margin, as did one of our two D. Senators.
