Wow. It looks as though someone finally grew a spine in the Republican party. Micheal Steele told CNN’s DL Hughley that “he is the man.”
I guess it pissed Limpbag off something fierce.
Uh oh. And sorry about that smell.
Steele would not have said these things if he didn’t plan on sticking to his guns, right? Right? Well maybe not.
I wonder what skeered Mr Steele so much?
Paul Bedard from US News’ Washington whispers had this to report this morning.
Newly installed Republican Party Chairman Michael Steele is drawing sneers from some GOP advisers for his rap on outspoken conservative radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. In a CNN interview, he called Limbaugh’s approach “incendiary” and “ugly” and dubbed him simply an entertainer. “Steele is playing with fire,” said one longtime Republican adviser close to House Republicans and both Bush families. Of concern is that Steele, the party’s first black chairman, will be attacked by Limbaugh and other talk show hosts, further splitting the party.
Astonishing. Why would Steele say such a thing if he was only going to back down the next day? Mike Allen of Politico is also following the story.
“My intent was not to go after Rush – I have enormous respect for Rush Limbaugh,” Steele said in a telephone interview. “I was maybe a little bit inarticulate. … There was no attempt on my part to diminish his voice or his leadership.”
~snip~
“I went back at that tape and I realized words that I said weren’t what I was thinking,” Steele said. “It was one of those things where I thinking I was saying one thing, and it came out differently. What I was trying to say was a lot of people … want to make Rush the scapegoat, the bogeyman, and he’s not.”
Oops. Well, I guess that makes Limpbag the leader of the republican party. Heh.
