McCain: We Can Do To Healthcare What We Have Done To Banking!
That’s right, in a current article penned by Senator McCain, he promises to bring to our healthcare system what has worked so well for Wall Street:
Unbridled deregulation!!!
The crowd goes wild!
“Witch Hunter” who Prayed Palin into Office is Back
Just when you thought it couldn’t get stranger, you learn that things haven’t gotten weird enough, yet.
MudFlats has the story:
Yes, you read that right. It really has gotten that absurd. I just had coffee with fellow blogger and Anchorage talk radio phenom Shannyn Moore. While we were fuming over the McCain hijacking of the Troopergate investigation, she got a call from MSNBC. They asked if she’d come on Keith Olbermann’s show tonight to talk about ‘the witch hunter’. The witch hunter, aka Pastor Muthee, was the guest pastor from Kenya that appeared at Palin’s church, The Wasilla Assembly of God, and “prayed over” Sarah to help her become governor.

The Lounge : Spiff vs. Troll – A dating “advice” column
Ed:This was part of my epic (and long) openthready last night so I switched it up a bit and present it as a stand alone diary. Extreme snark. It is The Lounge after all.
I find bigots to be fascinating in a pity teh engels kind of way. Here at the Moose I got in contact with a professional douchebag ( code name : Rumpel Stiltskin) to help explain all of his dagnab new world views to us, unfortunately, dude was maimed while working in the salt mines (don’t worry, he is an orphan AND a widower), so in lieu of this I have personally set out to understand the world of lunatic fringe mindset by myself (or anybody else who wants to join me) in this most epic and excellent adventure.
Governor Pain
Sarah Palin has been: busted using Yahoo personal email to go around the requirement of transparency and accountability in government affairs; kicked out of a speaking position at a jewish group’s event on Monday after trying to turn it into a campaign event; pulled off a trip to California; ordered her husband to commit contempt of court, who will likely be charged for this in January when the Alaskan Legislature is in session; caught taking 11 items through the ten-item lane at Wiggly Piggly…
sigh…
You know, this is just getting boring.
New Obama Ad Hits McCain on the Economy
Overnight/early morning Open Thread
What’s on your mind this morning?
The Republicans ought to watch this video before crafting anymore public policy speeches.
Oops: Photo shows Palin reading John Birch mag?
First discovered at BagNewsNotes, then posted by Ben Smith at Politico:
In a picture supplied by Sarah Palin’s family to the Associated Press, Palin appears with some rather odd reading matter: The magazine of the ultraconservative John Birch Society. The picture, dating to 1995, when Palin was a member of the Wasilla City Council, ran beside a profile of Palin in Saturday’s New York Times. The magazine, The New American, is sitting on top of her calendar on her desk, unopened.
Conversations With The Country
I attended a meeting today between the US Maritime Tri-Services (Marines, Navy and Coast Guard) and members of the public in Raleigh, North Carolina. Conversations with the Country is an ongoing conversation between the Tri-Services and the public, and the experience proved to me again that our forces deserve our support – and an administration that serves them better.
As is often the case when talking to Marines it left me feeling like joining up (I have a nagging feeling I may have volunteered for the Corps during General Conway’s session, won’t know until I get my induction papers…).
