The world of financial and McCain meltdown moves fast. Thanks to GRO for the Daily Show segment which asks?

“Is there anything left for the Republicans to screw up?”

And is the mortgage debt crisis just…

“The turd icing on the (expletives deleted) cake?”

Can things get worse? Or are the republicans only happy when

“Your kids are eating roadkill. No, when they're fighting with each other over who gets to eat roadkill”

And is Bush securing his legacy as the worst president in history?

“No, the Last”

    over morning coffee.  We both laughed at “the last,” and then just kind of looked at each other.  The fact that it even occurs to us that the tiniest kernel of truth in that is completely sobering.  We get to decide between two men to lead us.  One will take us to a new level of world leadership, and one will lead us down into the sewer.  It’s scary.

    you take any one of the top seven Bush fiascoes and it would be enough to destroy the legacy of even a great president.

    1. Iraq

    2. Katrina

    3. the banking/foreclosure crisis

    4. Guantanamo

    5. Abu Graib

    6. the national debt

    7. Justice department scandals

    8. healthcare crisis including the Medicaid donut hole

    9. energy crisis

    10.botched response to intelligence pre-9/11 and where the hell is Bin Laden?

    then you have Valerie Plame, a vice president who tells congress to fuck itself and shoots a guy in the face, student loan debt, No Child Left Behind, stem cell research, global warming, unsecured borders, the selling of our ports, torture, violating the Geneva Convention, a 17% approval rating, election fraud, Harriet Meyers, repeated trahing of the Constitution, crumbling infrastructure, over-extended military….and let’s not ever forget the part about how he was elected in the first place.

    You look back at guys like Carter, Johnson, Truman even Nixon and you want to weep for the shellacing they took for failures that seem quaint in comparison.  

    Here’s a short list of shit he hasn’t done yet…cross your fingers…

    dropped a nuclear bomb on someone

    declared a third war somewhere

    gotten a blow job in the Oval Office

    um, ah…I honestly can’t think of anything else.
