Interrogatories

Do you have a big day planned for tomorrow? Are you staying put or going somewhere?

Did you get anyone a gift that you can’t wait for them to open?

How good were you at manipulating your parents? Any examples? How good are your kids at manipulating you (or nieces and nephews, if you don’t have kids)?

Did you get your pets anything for Christmas?

Not a very big day.  May go see #1 son at some point.

I’m an insecure gift giver, so I often have gifts that I wait with some trepidation for someone to open.

Not much manipulation going on in my family, I wouldn’t say.

    Nope.

Early Christmas gift is Very Serious Newscasters having to say “Pussy Riot,” thank you Santa.

Your parents give you a name like that, you don’t have much chance of turning out OK, do you?

    Jefferson Beauregard S(ec)essions?  Hmm.

I’m celebrating with the family this weekend, so tomorrow I just plan to kick back and enjoy the day off,

I wish I had gotten someone the killer gift this year. Well, I did pick up two more fantasy series to get my hapless sister addicted to: Brandon Sanderson’s “The Way of Kings” and Robin Hobbs’ Farseer series. Before I began this little tradition she was mostly a mystery reader, but I have gotten her hooked on several series.

I was a pretty expert manipulator. They were very predictable and transparent in just the right ways.

My pets never get anything for Christmas. They never get me anything either. With previous cats, the tree was their gift, but now I have climbers.

No. Now that it’s just my brother & me, there’s not really much to do. And this year, he just started a new job & he is on call tomorrow, so we’re not even meeting for lunch. Maybe next year we’ll meet between Austin & Houston — if there’s a restaurant in Columbus (the 1/2way point) where a vegetarian can eat. I bought a movie ticket & am going to see the Hunger Games.

I am the youngest by 8 years. And the only girl. I got anything I wanted, and not just at Christmas. It is really, really good to be the baby.

oh — and I posted a candidate for Tweet of the Day in the check-in diary

  6. I went out yesterday afternoon to return something to the office supply store. That store was next to a BestBuy and I was pretty sure that I would be killed by the frantic drivers and hordes of last minute shoppers. Not so. The parking lot was calm and it looked just like a normal weekend day (most people were off or off at noon).

This is really the crux of the matter. When the majority religion claims that they are being oppressed, they embarrass themselves and their cause.

Who came up with the rule that a viewpoint is supposed to be respected just because the holder declares it to be a religious one?

THIS!!! The Randian Libertarian principle writ large…

Sorry, kids, but Santa isn’t bringing you anything because your parents are unemployed. Next time pick better parents.

That is really what Paul Ryan has been trying to tell people … if you are born poor it is your own damn fault.

    Hovering …

    – “Owl Dynasty”? No no no … don’t give Hedwig any ideas!!

    – Metal helmets only save thoughts from being stolen if they are lead lined. Don’t you know your science????

It is somewhat amazing to me that the KKK formed on Christmas Eve. A holiday party gone awry?
