  1. Floja Roja

Thanks for the birthday wishes yesterday!

I have to have a microwave. It’s primary function is reheating, or heating milk for my lattes (I don’t steam it, I use a hand blender then nuke it), and the occasional frozen thing. And thawing. I thaw a lot!

I have never pawned anything. I always heard it didn’t pay enough, and back in my broke days I never had much worth pawning. I never bought anything in one, either. I’d just look in the window. There’s something sad about pawn shops.

I’m allergic to crustaceans and bigots.

I have nodded off at work, never school (oddly enough). The work sleepiness is relatively recent and seems to involve the time change. I did have a couple of teachers in school who should have put me to sleep, but maybe the desks were too uncomfortable.

It would have still sparked outrage from the right-wingers but it would have been much easier for his fans to defend him. Maybe Peter should get that time slot on MSNBC?

One of the saddest tweets from last night:

    Hey!! This is a BHD:

In 1865, the Thirteenth Amendment to the Constitution, which banned slavery, was ratified.

    Hovering …

    – Maria has one of the oddest hairdos I have ever seen. I used to have the ringlets (thanks, Mom!) but the stuff on top is bizarre.

    :::groan:::4 “There’s a 3 day graze period beef or you’ll be herd.”

    – Obama went back in history to get the guns from Greek freedom-fighters? He is one determined guy!

Have a great day, Floja Roja.

I put a bunch of tweets from yesterday in the Mandela diary – the one from Patton Oswalt is the best

If you have a microwave, what do you use it for? Do you actually cook in it, or is it just for reheating stuff?

mostly reheating, but I have this cloth bag that lets you cook a potato in the microwave & have it turn out like a baked one

Have you ever pawned anything, or bought anything in a pawn shop?

never been in a pawn shop

    What are you allergic to?

everything that any plant puts in the air — I’ve never had a negative allergy test to anything airborne

Did you ever fall asleep in church, temple, or school? How about at your job?

yes – at work a lot, even when we’re busy — have I mentioned that insomnia sucks?

As far as I know, just heating things up.  I don’t think Lulu ever actually cooks anything in it.

Never pawned anything, but I may have bought something in a pawn shop.

Tree pollen.  That’s why spring is only my second favorite season.

School, yes.  Matter of fact, I embarrassed myself in elementary school once by waking up and saying, “Mama?”  I have nodded off at work, which isn’t bad as long as I don’t draw attention to myself by snoring.

    Great singer.
