Since 2008 – Progress Through Politics

Tuesday Morning Herd Check-in

Make sure you let your peeps

  know where to find you!

PLEASE Do Not Recommend the check-in diary!

Fierces on the Weather Critter Comment are obligatory welcome.

The morning check-in is an open thread posted to give you a place to visit with the meeses. Feel free to chat about your weather, share a bit of your life, grump (if you must), rave (if you can). The diarist du jour sometimes posts and runs, other times sticks around for a bit, often returns throughout the day and always cares that meeses are happy … or at least contented.

For those new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:

– Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones. Only click Post once for comments. When a diary’s comment threads grow, the page takes longer to refresh and the comment may not display right away.

– To check for replies to your comments, click the “My Comments” link in the right-hand column (or go to “My Moose”). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)

– Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can’t Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, … or Meh. Just Meh. (p.s. Ratings don’t bestow mojo, online behaviour does).

– The Recommended list has a prominent place on the Front Page because it reflects the interests of the Moose. When people drive-by, we want them to see what we are talking about: news, politics, science, history, personal stories, culture. The list is based on number of recs and days on the list. Per Kysen: “The best way to control Rec List content is to ONLY rec diaries you WANT to see ON the list.

– Finally, the posting rules for a new diary: “Be excellent to each other… or else

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

I hate thunderstorms – my dogs freak out

Tired and can barely keep my eyes open – staying up till 2:30 last night, for the second night in a row was not wise.

I hope I can go to bed my usual time tonight – but I’m not counting on it.

    I’m too old for this.

I better take a senior siesta (aka nap) this afternoon 🙂

avec les thunderstorms later today. Picked up the princess from her house this morning–they were all asleep when I arrived, LOL! She came home with me to pick strawberries for breakfast. We’re going shopping this morning and plan to do some yard work before the rain starts.

We started reading The Silver Donkey, a wonderful children’s story, yesterday before our post-lunch nap. I’m happy to report it sent her off into a deep sleep. 🙂

  4. I almost wish S. California had weather so I could share something about it. 85 degrees no clouds beautiful day : )

My baby has entered the final stage of baking grandboy #2 and she gets tired if you look at her too hard now.  4 more weeks to go and I’ll have new grandboy pics!

anyhow had to peek my head in after seeing that DK finally did something about some of the people who have been bane of Black folks for years, they still left the RichardLyons etc but oh well I guess anything is progress for them.

The daunting list I had yesterday seems to have grown with attention. Perhaps continuing to ignore it is a wiser choice!

It’s a Dr. day for me…..blood test for coumadin levels as it’s not stable again, a follow up re the skin issues I struggled with last fall, and like it or not I need to have the pesky broken toe examined as it is still swollen and painful 🙁

So far no progress with Grey but still working on it.  I’ve got to get some sort of resolution before it gets too hot.  Since he tears up screens I can’t open the windows on the porch while he’s still living there but the solar heat gain of  a glassed-in south-facing porch with those windows closed could get deadly.  And while I have other options right now, I won’t have in another week as I’ll be renting my spare bedroom out to a “returning student” while she goes to grad school.

Also still working on getting my phone/internet situation worked out.  (When I tried to go to the link Trish sent me for that UversePro + voice 200, the site wouldn’t come up.)  I really don’t want to give AT&T any more money than I already am and really don’t want to let go of my Credo long distance.  But at this point I haven’t checked to see if the problem is in the line from the box to my phone or if the phone itself has finally borked (I’ve had that phone over 30 years).  So I guess I’ll do that next.

Anyway, hope everybody in Moosylvania has a great day.
